Hands up who has a bun warmer on their toaster?

Ykwim, a pair of metal arms that you can flip up over the toasting parts of your toaster and warm up pitta bread, or any old bread infact, without actually having to put it down in the slots of the toaster.

Does anyone know what I mean by this?

So that's what it is!

Yes, evidently I do.

nomorecake · 10/02/2010 15:48

yes, have it on my toaster. never use it.

why??

ihavenewsockson · 10/02/2010 15:49

I read bum warmer.
I don't have either!

AMumInScotland · 10/02/2010 15:50

I do, but it doesn't flip over it's completely removable. And removed. And probably in the depths of a cupboartd somewhere.... I never saw much point in it to be honest.

PurpleFrog · 10/02/2010 15:53

I have a removeable one and I have used it once! It didn't seem to warm very evenly....

littleducks · 10/02/2010 15:59

No

But i do stick things i want warmed on top of the slots of the toaster as if i did and heat them that way

psychomum5 · 10/02/2010 16:11

I thought the title asked about bum warmers, and thought WTF, WHO in their right mind warms their bum on their toaster!!!

but yeah, I do have a BUN warmer, altho never used it bar once as thought 'whats the point?'......the microwave warms buns more effectively IMO, or the oven if you have several and like them crispy

Oh hello, thanks for answering.

Thing is, my toaster had one and I used it a lot, I was very fond of my bun warmer, I was.

But the old toaster went bang the other day (sparks and all, quite dramatic) so I have been looking for a new one. Have been to Comet, Currys and Sainsburys. None of the toasters I've seen have a bun warmer .
And I'd really like one.

I seem to remember when we bought our old toaster (which was probably only about 3 years ago tbh) that most toasters had bun warmers. They seem to have gone out of favour .

Aha, now I know what that thing is! Thanks. I might use it sometime, now.

Furball · 10/02/2010 17:31

We have a bun warmer! use it every weekend to do croissants

Yes have looked at replacement toasted as it's yonks old but they seem to have changed the design of them to huge big square things. - and no bun warmers!

Just checked out this one on argos at the price tag - for a TOASTER?

Furball · 10/02/2010 17:33

here's one at only £65 = gosh they've gone up alot since I bought mine

GothDetective · 10/02/2010 17:39

At £166 I'd want it to hand make the bread for me prior to toasting it.

Furball · 10/02/2010 17:43

quite a few to choose from here

bibbitybobbityhat · 10/02/2010 17:46

Ooo that is brilliant Furball. Have never heard of that site. Will have a good browse after feeding time at the zoo. Thank you .
