Sick in cars - any taxi drivers around?!

DD was sick in my car last week.

Yes of course I cleaned it up (as best I could, anyway, given it was in the dark, with one vomiting child in the house and both the DSes complaining that they wanted their tea...)

I even took it to be valeted and there is no visual evidence that anyone was ever sick in it. But it does still smell pretty rank.

Any good ideas about how to get rid of the smell, without resorting to magic tree air fresheners or those things that plug into the cigarette lighter? Anyone the parent of a carsick child, or a taxi driver used to drunks ???

Mix a spoonful of bicarb of soda in a bowlful of water and sponge wherever the vomit was, then soak up the water with a dry towel. It absorbs all the smell, I've saved several car seats and carpets at home that way, the effect is pretty instantaneous.

Bicarb - yes it's great.

I did the bicarb bit and then wiped all services with lemon oil. Which made the car smell all sparkly again!
