How to clean/detangle barbies hair?

I am sure I have asked this several months ago but I cannot find the thread.

Several barbies of my daugters look like they need a visit to a salon! How do I go about detangling/washing their hair without it ending in them going in the bin? Any ideas?

Thanks

Tangle teaser hairbrushes work on dolls as well as children, if you have one (otherwise its an expensive dolls accessory!). Or use detangling spray meant for children's hair.

Fabric softener works if the hair is matted.

I can tell you from bitter experience, don't iron it thinking that that will make it all smooth and shiny. It doesn't.

(I was about 6 at the time, ruined my Mums iron and got a right telling off )

Shave it off and pretend Barbies showing commitment to the Holy Life (Brahmacariya)

Yes ,fabric conditioner worked through the hair after washing in slightly shampoo-ey water, you need to really work it in and them tease out the tangles with wide toothed comb or your fingers.

I used to restore Barbies and My Little Ponies and wetting the hair, slathering it in good quality conditioner for five minutes then combing it thru, gently, then rinsing well works for most.

If the hair is resembling a birds nest then it's probably beyond it. If it has got to the stage where it looks like it has been singed with a hair dryer it's all over.

If the hair is still a bit fuzzy after the conditioner then plait it while it's still wet - or - my personal fave, but takes a long time, twist it into lots of tiny twists like dreads and melt the ends with a lighter.
Looka awesome and she never has another bad hair day again.
