Starbear · 08/02/2010 09:32

Morning all
Sorry for my moan yesterday! Shouldn't grumble we have a nice life (when I'm not at work!)had a lovely dinner around friends house. Boys played and we talked politics which is so grown up. Friend's DH is Italian so we had a major chat about Silvio Berlusconi and his mafia roots! School politics and cooking, my fav topic.
Read an article in the paper about families being childstric. I now vow to arrange more babysisters so DH and myself go out together. This will mean more babysitting for me! So I though I would take up knitting so I can do that in anyone's house! I think this cold weather has stopped me gardening so the next time I gumble I'll put my gardening clothes on and dig for victory But in a mo with list

Makingchanges · 08/02/2010 09:45

Morning all

Yay its Monday's - I like Mondays - Its DD's full day in nursery and I get the day to myself.

DD had breakfast, made lunch and to nursery - Done
Shopping - Done

When I got in the car all the electrics had reset themselves so a little concerned that my car is poorly - Its a scenic and everything, including the handbrake is electric so I'm praying it was just a glitch. If my car holds out i'm off to the gym to try out my new trainers, then back to finish sorting the huge ironing pile I started yesterday.

Dyls - Get yourself off to Ikea - I love ikea but only in the week when less crowded.

Star my kids went on bedwetting intermittently till 7, fingers crossed ds2 will stop. He woke at 5.30 with a wet bed this morning.
Glad you are feeling vigorous and cheery this morning
Unfortunately I really hate going out, I find it one more stress to add to evening routine. Sometimes it is lovely but I really much prefer going to lunch or tea with my dcs in tow. Or leaving dh in the house.
Anyway that's another challenge for me, to ENJOY going out in eves...sure I will crack it eventually, like swimming or losing weight

MC I have a electrically challenged Scenic too! radio not working now.
enjoy your free day

Tuner gone now and hall swept.
So will finish quick tidy, then food shop and return wheelchair.

this afternoon
schedule says: garden/bake/cook so GARDENING brrr

Tortoise · 08/02/2010 10:44

Morning all.
Front room needs a desperate tidy and hoover.
Washing pile needs sorting.
Clothes need putting away.
DW needs emptying and re-loading.

But i am cold and lacking motivation (as uusual!)

grouchyoscar · 08/02/2010 10:44

Hello ALL

Thought I was calming down but I'm helishly giddy again today. I must take a chill pill

Or do the home blessing

Got Ed to school myself today (tick on the achievement meter) Also dealt with the post and organised admin stuff

Tortoise · 08/02/2010 11:44

front room tidy and hoovered.
WM and TD running.

DW next to do. Then will put clothes in right bedrooms for kids to try to put away later!

Tortoise · 08/02/2010 12:34

DW done.
Clothes put in rooms.

Randomly decided to sort shoe rack, not that there were many shoes actually on the shelf! Sorted a bag full of too small/worn out shoes.

Also cleaned DS2's football boots. he could have left some of the mud on the pitch!!

dylsmum1998 · 08/02/2010 13:06

mc hope the car isn't poorly!

star 2 of my sisters wet the bed laods when we were young, they stopped around 8 or 9 i think

hello everyone else

i have been to ikea- it snowed the way there and back has stopped now. we bought the unit i went up there for and few other bits. also had breakfast. I'm shocked at how peaceful it was, i normally go at weekend and dread it - love the shop just hate the crowds. must go on weekdays more
got home and remembered the lift to our flat is broken and there is no way i can carry the unit up the stairs alone, i struggled enough getting it in the car so phoned fil and he gonna pop in to help when he finishes work. am now sorting through dd's toys

OP posts:
swanriver · 08/02/2010 13:15

Taken wheelchair back cue short power walk
As I was in carpark of B & Q decided to go to garden centre rather than do any gardening -it has started snowing

have bought potatoes for chitting, compost, primulas, floral gumboots, gloves. Now just have to do the boring WORK.

I told you, Dylsmum
mud everywhere here too, Tortoise

Now brief food shop
and need to take rubbish to tip so that can fit dcs in car to go to Cubs now that I've put it in don't really want to take it out again

Starbear · 08/02/2010 14:24

dyls That's always been my probelm at Ikea used to get over enthusiastic when buying stuff. ((((dream bubble of the past. Pictures to big to go in the car, cupboards too big and heavy for a single woman)))) If I go DH takes the school minibus. Te he!
Tortoise football boots!
Right back from gym & Shopping. Cleaned veg tray in fridge.
Now phone HV. dyls & Swan I know it might be a family things as my brother was about 8-9 yrs & sis until her teens then she was given tablets that worked for her.
Yet to do
sewing & dinner going to be chicken & bacon pasta sauce & spaghetti This will use up leftovers.
See ya later

OverflowingMum · 08/02/2010 14:25

BBL

swanriver · 08/02/2010 14:29

so vile outside that even ironing looks fun
so ironing to radio whlst cooking supper

don't why I thought I needed to buy any food, there is tons left, just needs a bit of thoughtful combining
sausage and pasta cheesy bake for dcs'supper, and dh can have plain sausages with a veg garnish

swanriver · 08/02/2010 14:37

Gyn well done Starbear
need to get my pp in too.

OFM very sorry to hear you are feeling so awful still
I have found a new girly DVD you mightenjoy with dds 1 & 2 and even at a pinch dd3?Little Women with Winona Ryder. Dd was completely captivated by it, and in tears at end when Beth dies. Sorry that was meant to be more cheery, but you know what I mean.

dylsmum1998 · 08/02/2010 14:38

star you have just described me in your ikea reminiscing LOL and i drive a really huge car well it is in my head when shopping- in reality its a peugeot 106

am feeling heavy with cold seems to be getting worse as day goes.

have done;
sorted dd's barbies into one of the boxes and sort of organised some of the others, will be easier once she is in bed because i want to cull them
have scrubbed bathroom thoroughly
loaded washer
came back in living room barbies are on the floor and dd is in the toy box reading a book

am temtped to curl up on sofa with a blanket and watch a film, i can't go to library/recycling bank or anything that involves leaving the flat as the heating engineer will be here anytime in the next 24 hours

OP posts:
swanriver · 08/02/2010 14:44

LOL sounds like she wants the box for herself!

Makingchanges · 08/02/2010 14:59

Well back from the gym but cos of roadworks and the snow I decided to have a leisurely afternoon and after the gym had lunch there and then spent an hour reading my book. So not much else done although I really enjoyed it and my knee didn't hurt yay - but may have slightly pulled my hamstring - I do feel that sometimes this fitness malarky is more hassle than its worth.

Off to pick up DD then to do the ironing and cook tea I suppose. I always run out of steam about this time

Starbear · 08/02/2010 15:08

dyls I had a peugeot 106 ds cried when we sold it.
Right off to collect Ds. Pasta sauce on hob.
MC enjoy.
Grim weather here! snow but, not settling

scattyspice · 08/02/2010 15:59

Snow ! Hope we don't get it (had enough snow).

Have started healthy lifestyle:

Walk home from school everyday (need to leave work on time to do this).
Eat regular meals (including breakfast and take a lunch break at work).
Feed dc toast instead of biscuits.
Drink less wine.

Already had resistence from DD re walking home from school . She was dragging her heels so much (with lots of wining in a load voice)that DS ran off and ran across the road (says he forgot to wait for me) . So they are both in the bad books. I will persevere though.

swanriver · 08/02/2010 16:41

[swan quickly hides all discarded cutprice biscuit wrappers and proudly displays crusts of white sliced]

I am feeling defeated by dcs already
dd has found umpteen packets of biscuits and is going round house offering them to brothers
she is also doing some elaborate money lending exercise with her coins and brothers and they have already accused her of cheating them

at least supper is prepared [sigh]
AND I managed to take off some of the uniform so they can wear it tomorrow again

I need to chase everyone to sit down and do their blooming homework but they keep escaping, and I need to put ironing away before it is trampled underfoot

Scatty she will get used to it - but it is wearing

To Do
homework
ironing away
serve supper promptly
clear supper
cubs
take some rubbish OUT of car again [drat]
supper for dh
clear supper for dh
put away rest of clothes

Star I suppose I did keep to my plan for today, sort of...so that's a start.

Starbear · 08/02/2010 16:42

Scatty We are down south so maybe it won't reach you!!!!
Ds has just told me he misses his old school and has no one to play with at playtime break my heart. After holiday I will make a big effort with the other mum's and see who we can have over on play dates!
It parents evening so we can ask the teachers opinon Ds is coming too so he can hear that we do care!
