Help - something is eating my curtains!

When I got up this morning it was [ahem] slightly later than usual it being a Saturday and all. So, this meant it was brighter outside as a result. When I was about to open my lovely, new, made to measure, fully lined John Lewis curtains I could see light shining in a couple of spots. When I checked it looked like something had been nibbling the material and I noticed some tiny little creatures (about 1mm) crawling on them . Does anyone know what they might be and more importantly how can I get rid of them? It's different when it's clothes because you can put them away with some lavender or moth deterrent but what are you supposed to do with curtains?!

How long have you had them?

What fabric?

bunjies · 07/02/2010 10:30

We've only had them 3 months. They are cotton.

Is anything else in your house being 'eaten'?

If not, I wonder if the curtains came to you 'infested'?

No idea what eats cotton though...

COntact John Lewis - seriously.

My mums curtains JL curtains 'shrunk' after 18 months and they came out no quibbles and fixed them for her.

Their customer service is fantastic - they won't make you feel stupid for asking.

Right. I'll give them a ring in the morning. Problem is I live in France so they won't be able to come round .
