Carpets smell of dogs!

My carpet smell of dogs! I do have two large dogs, which is probably why ;) However I had my carpets cleaned an deodorised last week and they already smell again!

I have not had carpets before and I find it really difficult. Any advice on the smell? I hoover every other day and I air out for 10 min morning and evening. I am not keen on room perfume and air fresheners - that's just masking the smell.

How often do you wash the dogs?

TBH the only real solution to to get rid of the carpets and put down hard flooring. Sorry. I'm sure it's not what you want to hear, but it's true.

When you have your carpets cleaned it brings any odours trapped in them to the surface so they will smell worse rather than better.

You can buy doggy deodorizers which are supposed to neutralise the smell but havent used them so not sure how effective they are.

Having my carpets cleaned next month for the first time since I got my dog - absolutely dreading it!

I wash my dogs about once a month but less during the colder months.

I know, hard flooring is probably the only way to go - I'm a tenant though.
