I have a Stanley (like an AGA) cooker with an enamel top and there is food burnt on to the enamel. I can't get it off with simple wiping/scrbbing with a scourer. Has anyone got any ideas? Has it actually eaten into the enamel?

I have a stanley cooker too and would also like to know if there's something that will clean the enamel that doesn't take a lot of elbow grease.

So obviously, Crocky, we are the only ones with crusty enamel cooking tops. Maybe if we said that we had AGAs we'd have more responses? It appears to be the magic word!
