Can anyone recommend a vacuum cleaner that picks up long hairs?

My vacuum cleaner doesn't really pick up hair unless I use one of the attachments. This is really time consuming.

I think I may be losing more hair as I never seem to have this problem before! My previous vaccum cleaners are discontinued, so am really considering getting a new one.

Any recommnedations?

bumping for you as I'd like one too!

Is this pet or human ?! I only ask because there is a special Miele hoover jobbie designed for pet hair

I'm not sure whether a vaccum cleaner that claims to pick up pet hair will work well enough.

Fed up with buying vacuum cleaners only to find out that they don't really work that well. The few decent reliable ones I have are discontinued.

Spending a lot on a Dyson isn't an option either

upright will always beat a cylinder for hair - you need those whizzy brushes

I have a Henry Hound (the green Henry) and it does the job. We did have a Dyson and it was awful.

dyson animal is great. we have a cat who, by right, should be hairless, he sheds so much. plus dd1s favourite toy is a hannah montana wig, which again, should be more like father cadfael, the amount of hair it has shed all over my carpets
know you said dyson not an option but see if you can get one on ebay maybe?

I have very long hair, and my Miele cat and dog gets it up very efficiently

Sebo. Had mine ten years and copes with all surfaces and all types of hair.

We have a long haired German Shepherd (& Teen girl!) and DYson animal gets it all up well BUT you have to unpick the rollers when you have finished (as our dog sheds mountains of hair).

I have 2 dogs and 2 teenager girls both with long thick hair and sadly LOVE hoovering since I bought a Miele as for once its a vacuum that does what it says on the tin! It picks up all hair effortlessly- and believe me if it can cope with my daughters' hair it can cope with anything!
