Mascara stains on carpet!

In my usual morning rush I managed to drop my mascara wand today which made three lovely black splodges on my bedroom carpet (cream).

So far I have tried baby wipes, make-up wipes and baby oil, which have just smudged the marks a bit!

Does anyone know what I can use to remove the marks please?

loads of my cheapie eye make up remover from boots miraculously once got a whole load of lip liner out of our cream carpet where DS2 was 'colouring in, mummy....' and so I always have a bottle in the cleaning cupboard - I think it might work better than your wipes if you have any around

Anyone in the daytime crowd with any other ideas please?
