Does anyone have a flip or similar?

I need okay want something to record the kids and don't want to lug a big thing which requires it's own piece of luggage for transport.

Any recommendations?

I have got a Kodak Zi8 HD. This is a bit dearer than the Flip. The main advantage is that it can be charged from the mains unlike the flip which is charged via USB. This is o.k. when you are at home but not so good when you are on hols. Happy with picture quality

Thanks. Mind if I ask how much it cost?

About £120 at Amazon just before xmas.

Flip works on aa batteries so no charging. Mine was £69 from amazon. It is fab and idiot proof. Just point and click. I I just downloaded lots of lovely vids of the kids over Xmas.
Flip comes in a little black carrying case so v portable.

And what about picture quality?

Can only speak for the kodak. I am happy with the picture quality. We decided against the Flip purely because of recharging issues as we are not very good at remembering spare batteries!

Flip picture quaility is perfectly fine. Some of the films I did by candlelight and they are pretty dark, but the ones I took inside with ordinary light are great. Looks just like any other video you might take with a digital camera. It is basically just a point and click with a zoom.

I am now reconsidering my requirements since DH told me digital zoom is pretty much crap compared to optical zoom.

Oops, hit "post message" too soon. So I am relaxing the bit about it fitting in my pocket. But still don't want to spend more than about £150 or so. If anyone has any recommendations I haven't thought of, by all means your suggestions would be welcome.

Oh, would also like HD, 1080p.
