Urgent ironing advice needed!

Can anyone help?

I've bought a dress that's 100% Rayon. It says don't iron, dry clean only etc.

But by the time it had been stuffed in mini carrier bag and brought home it had crumpled. I've had it hanging up for a day or 2 to no avail.

Dare I iron it? Tis for dinner tonight and have nothing else .....

Have you tried hanging it up in the bathroom and then having a long hot steamy shower?

have you tried hanging in the bathroom and letting the room steam up?
you could try putting your iron on to stean setting and steaming it with the iron (don't touch the material)
or iron with something else (pillowcase) between the dress and the iron

Have not done the steam thing, as I'm never convinced our shower gets that steamy.

Liking the idea of steamy iron close to but not on the dress!
