swanriver · 28/01/2010 18:49

I have now been doing ds2's homework with him for AN HOUR it had to be a modern variant of a fairy story - (well he's enjoying it) and has actually written last four sentences undictated
ds1 had to invent a washingmachine on paper
and dd took the opportunity to start fingerpainting a volcano picture

this is when I start missing the grumpy dh who will carry the kids off to bed...but not tonight

bbFriday

wendyhappysmile · 28/01/2010 18:53

Oh I am not looking forward to homework time! Life is a continual battle with DC at the minute.
BB tomorrow

scattyspice · 28/01/2010 19:07

swan - they get intresting/complicated homework. Grace darling is DS first project (has just been reading/spelling/maths worksheet so far). Worryingly one family (when did homework become a family affair?)have already set the bar rather high with a scale model depicting the storey (using a variety of media!) I was going to send him in with a picture (using felt pen). Now feel like turning up dragging a full size rowing boat with ds in costume to act out the tale. Have decided that the important thing is for DS to understand the story (and quite fancy a trip to Bamburgh) so have decided on a visit to the Grace Darling museum on Sat for inspiration.

wendy DS has always been very resistent to the idea of homework .

Have spent all evening making tea (twice) puddings (how nice is Angel Delight) and snacks and packed lunches. Just the bedtime drinks to rustle up now.

Wolfcub · 28/01/2010 19:26

evening all ds asleep in car by 6.30pm for the third day in a row. I have put him straight to bed. Luckily mum fed him tea at her house so he won't go hungry. Poor little man just can't seem to get over the virus he picked up at nursery last week. Dr seems to think it's just one of those things we have to wait out.

done
wm unloaded, reloaded and on
wet washing hung up
breadmaker on

dylsmum1998 · 28/01/2010 21:40

vening all. just popping in quick.
very impressive done lists today!

at all the interesting yet complicated homeworks.

have been in uni all day got in at 6, fed ds quickly before rushing out to his ju-jitsu. back at 9 to put dc to bed.
hav also managed to wash up, load washer and do a little tidying. folded the dry washing, ds kindly unloaded from machine when he got in from school yesterday and hung up to dry for me. (i suspect it would still be in there if he hadnt)

having a quick read through emails etc before i get myself off to bed,

TeaMonster · 28/01/2010 22:44

Mini has had a really bad day. He is on the verge of getting kicked out of preschool.

He strangled a child today
Kicked a teacher
Bit another teacher
Broke his glasses
scratched himself in a tantrum

I am having THE TALK with them tomorrow.

I just want the ground to open and swallow me up whole.

Starbear · 28/01/2010 22:56

Evening all Wolf It will get better promise.
3xmummy Wow waht a list. Glad you've got the car bac k
TM Hope your Mum is behaving herself.
scatty I love it when parents get so involved that they push the kid aside to work on the homework I am ashamed to say I have sort of fallen into this trap when I worked all day on building a sandcastle for my nephews but wouldn't let them touch it. Then at sunset I wondered why they were so grumpy Kids!
MC look after that knee on MondayTuesday. I'm going to join you in the gym.
Right off to bed I've done the application & had it signed by my sgt but the Inspector was off today typical. So I need to go into work for him to sign it and take it to HR. Very difficult to explain how much I have to travel tomorrow to get this done!!! Never mind they said I could get the day back which isn't so bad. cross finger for me xxx
Goodnight everyone
