Problem with ultra fluffy towels

Got 2 gorgeous new bath sheets in very dark blue.
Washed them twice before putting them in bathroom. Dd has just come out of bath and is now covered in a blueish haze of fluff and the bathroom looks like the soot-monster has been visiting. There is a fine film of dark blue towel fluff on every surface.

How many times am I going to have to wash them before I can use them?!

I had this with some very dark gree towels. It was a right pain.

Maybe wash them again and then tumble dry? This gets rid of a lot of fluff.

Thanks! Have washed them again but no tumble dryer. We'll see how it goes.
