between me and my mum we have gone through about 5 hoovers in the last 4 years andi wasnt impressed by any of them. can anyone recommend one that sucks really well? i have had one of those dyson wrap around things which was NOT worth the money ipaid for it, mum has an upright dyson at the minuite which is not bad, but wondered if these was anything as good or better but still around that price range?

anyone got one of those dyson balls? what they like?

tia!

I've got a Henry and it is the business.

izzybiz · 22/01/2010 17:16

Henry, had mine over 10 years now and it still sucks the carpet off the floor!

simpson · 22/01/2010 17:16

Although its pink so technically a Hetty

gruber · 22/01/2010 17:19

Miele. Absolutely amazing, it does everything in one (including a little thing for doing the sofa!)

Another vote for Miele Cat and Dog. Bought mine after reading so many glowing mn reviews. I love it.

lizandlulu · 22/01/2010 17:25

You can get a Henry on eBay for £85 including postage - very good value methinks.

simpson · 22/01/2010 17:34

red Henry hoover about £130 but the other colours ie green or pink seem to be a bit cheap at just under £100 if you shop around

LauraIngallsWilder · 22/01/2010 17:38

We have had a red henry for three years - he is still in essentially brand new condition and works perfectly

Henry rules

The super dooper Miele one like the one we bought is here for £219 at John Lewis, so I'm sure you could get it cheaper if you shop around. It is so worth getting - we have not regretted it for a moment, after previously having bought several useless mistakes one after another.

Another vote for miele cat and dog. We used to go through a vacuum cleaner a year before we got the miele. I love it.

Avoid Dyson - they just don't last.

weegiemum · 22/01/2010 17:42

Another vote for the red Henry. Love love love him it!

ChilloOMNIPOTENThippi · 22/01/2010 17:59

Green Henry Hound here. It's fabulous, as are all Henrys, I believe.
We had the Dyson stowaway too and it was a massive waste of money.

Bumperlicious · 22/01/2010 19:44

Henry, but make sure you get the extra roto brush attachment which doesn't come as standard I don't think.
