Mouldy cot bed mattress!

Help! I live in Southern Spain and we have had torrential rain for weeks and as we have no heating the apartment has got quite damp. There are some damp patches on the ceiling in my DS?s room (he?s just about to turn 2). I have been using a de-humidifier in there when he isn?t it there and that has been making a big difference but I was horrified to discover yesterday that there is some mould (black spots) on the underside of his foam mattress. I put it outside yesterday to dry it out (finally some sun) but I wanted some help with how to clean the mattress to get rid of the mould and advice on whether it is still safe for him to use it again once I have got rid of the mould or do I need to buy a new one instead. He is away for a couple of days now so I have time to sort it out. Thanks in advance for your help!

personally I'd ditch it, black mould can be really dangerous.

Hi,

I agree....buy a new one....
www.babymattressesonline.co.uk can arrange delivery to Europe. You just need to send your measurements.
Prices are very reasonable too.

Hi, Yes jooseyfruit is right, ditch it. Mould is deadly. Read 100 mold allergy symptoms online. Also mold-help.org lots of real life stories - click on sitemap on left hand side. Mold is US spelling, they are 'more' than 10 years ahead of us in their knowledge and thinking out of the box. Check out Amazon for the book, Get Well Soon - Remove The Cause The Effect Will Astound You by United Authors, links to MS, ME, Big C, Dementia, Alzheimers and an endless list. This is serious!

Don't worry we were the same, when you google cot mattress or baby mattress there are just soooo many options! It's enough to make your wife go into labour!

All I can say is that we ended up going with www.thelittlegreensheep.co.uk because they seemed like the only ones who offer a guarantee on their baby mattresses (5 years i think). That's gotta say something!

Hope that helps and good luck!
