Storing a bike in a small space

Ds had a bike for Christmas. His old one was kept by the backdoor (inside) but the new one is too big and I have to climb over it to get to the bathroom. There is a shed in the garden but it's quite far from the house, is already pretty full and has lots of spiders (I'm a big chicken!!). I'm concerned that if it goes up there ds'll hardly ever use it. Also, rather complicatedly (is that even a word?!!), I share the garden and shed with my neighbour (my Aunt) and she's a bit precious about what/who goes in there . I have a small area outside my backdoor where it could live but I don't want it to get rusty.

So, any suggestions as to how or where I store the bike? I'd consider some kind of bracket to hang it up on an inside wall, though it'd have to be hung vertically. I have seen a pop-up tent for storing bikes but they seemed quite expensive and quite big. The bike is 20".

We hang them by the front wheel from a hook bolted to the wall.

Or if you have the ceiling there are ones that you hang them on a pulley system from the ceiling

Is it a special bike hook or any old hook? I'm not sure if I have the ceiling space to hang it from there! Also, is the back wheel still on the floor or does the hook take the whole weight of the bike?
