Have woken up in shouty mood.
DC being very trying this morning...

Had BIG argument with DH.....
He has taken DC to school as on a course today so has late start.
He is away overnight, and actually quite relieved as means this evening and tomorrow will no doubt run smoother....

Despairing of how to get older dc to co-operate and help out a bit more without daily nagging...
DH strolls inand does his usual"well at work we do...." grrr drives me mad how just cause he's a teacher he reckons he is an expert on children, and loves nothing more than tellingme my approach is all wrong and how I should do it...
Neve mind that I am actually a qualified Child Pyschiatist and have run all sorts of parenting groups etc...
Tried telling him it is totally different with your own children...but thenagain he isnt theonehere dealing with them 90% ofthe time is he......

off to calm down....

BBin a bit...
need lists today...

dcs at school
now off to work in sch library

I too have to get and fill in a form today, why did I volunteer to go back to library - house still not organised, meals not prepared....
still, need to start with my motivated life somewhere..

ds has apparently already got a detention for being rude - he has taken up where he left off...

On a good note, seem to have lost 2 more Ibs, despite bagels yest

swanriver · 15/01/2010 09:16

You need to have a feedback session with him with the children are being good

dd was charming, helpful and organised this morning, then hit me twice for trying to refill her waterbottle . Ds2 was reciting an alternative version (extremely rude) to some song that ds1 was listening to. And ds1 was in tears about his detention.
I think I made no attempt to get anyone to put their pjjamas back or make their beds.

Morning all

OFM - A lot of our arguments are about how we do/don't parent etc, although none of us are qualified. I think sometimes we argue just to let off the stresses off the day. Yesterday we were both in a good mood when we came home but two minutes together we were having big shouting match.

Swan - Well done on weight loss. I am at you as I put 3.5lbs on this week although that was the first time I had been weighed since xmas. I had good plans for this week until the black ice came on Wednesday and I couldn't get out to get the food that I needed for my meals I had planned.

Today I'm hoping will be a good day. Tesco van due any minute, first lot of clothes in the washing machine and I have 3 hours free this afternoon whilst DD is at nursery. I was going to go to the gym but think I may have a blitz on the house instead as its starting to depress me when I see the mess and I know I can get to the gym each of the next 3 days anyway.

DD in a great mood as well as she got to bring Tidy Ted home last night for good sweeping (Don't know how she can tidy at nursery and not home) so should have an easy morning today.

To Do:-

Dry clothes currently washing
Strip and wash bedding - Ours
Make soup for tomorrows dinner from shopping delivery
Make WW chicken receipe for dinner
Check on PGCE application, expecting a decision any day now
Find leggings for DD's dance class tomorrow - we only have one pair and I don't know where they are. May need to invest in some more.
Clear spare room of clean clothes (I'm sure that was on list earlier in the week)

I'll see how I get on with those and may add to it later

BBL

Morning all

I am feeling a lot better, greenie (laptop) has been moved from ITU to outpatants all in one night - yippee. I can feel connected again!!

OFM I feel a lot better about dealing with the maxi issue. I have been consistant and it is working. The points have been given and taken away and we are doing well. The shop even opened early so he could get a treat. Sometimes just knowing others are suffering helps.

Plus me and DH are both as cluless as each other. I said I can move 600 peeps over 1 weekend and can not deal with one curly haired terrorist and he said sometimes he would rather be doing tax returns (his most hated bit of work) , however, we agree that we DO NOT NEGOTIATTE WITH SAID CURLY HAIRED TERRORISTS!

I guess Swan it must be nice to be out of the house a littlebit

MC housework can be as good as the gym if done energetically!!

Afternoon ALL I killed the PC on Monday but it's now fixed so I apologies for not keeping up to date with everyones news.
Have mixed feelings this week I saw that I had missed an advert for a new post and missed the entry date. Then found out that no one applied & they might re advertise Phoned up about new job totally fits in with everything I want to do & hours Tried to start application just 1 hour before leaving work this was swallowed up by a colleague disgreeing with my views of a protocol I want to set up and winding me up to the point I cried when I got in the car with DH DH totally fed-up about me moaning about work but not changing posts basically told me to shut-up Friend in same occupation phoned to crying about the job that I'm not alone.
Told by various people that they would help and support me in my application E-mail from Dept yes they will re-advertise Then speaking to the person in dept advertising that basically don't get your hopes up other people are now interested Still getting support for application Told by friends this supervisor is pedantic about spelling and grammer not my forte Starting the appliction process & being supported might use this process to keep trying for a new post Still have tons of work re presentation and went to work on my day off to work on it.
So if your too busy to read the above I don't blame you I have gone like this this week
Just discovered during the repair of my PC spell checker is not working Arrrgggh!

Starbear · 15/01/2010 14:14

Right, I got that off my chest
OFM Hate, hate having an argument with DH because he is ALWAYS right and yes, you guessed it, he is a TEACHER. He never says sorry just makes a statement that my idea might be good next time but the word 'Sorry' never.
Need to get Ds's linen out of the dryer and finish making his bed.
Pack change of clothes going to friends house after school. Fish n' chips with friends
Paper recycling
Read everything there is to know about 'Every child Matters' & Information sharing'

swanriver · 15/01/2010 14:30

Starbear - Change is just exhausting. You've coped with lots of changes recently.
You are amazing to have such responsible difficult job, Ijust hope the new application makes things a bit easier and that you have a lovely relaxing evening with the friends.
feelng stressed too about worky thngs dunno why - tis all self-inflicted, not even cash earning.

Starbear · 15/01/2010 14:36

Thank you swan I need a hobby that I can do in the late evenings to take my mind of work & unwind? I normally runaround the house last thing putting things in place for the morning!!! Should give up telly but I think DH wants me on the sofa with him!

TeaMonster · 15/01/2010 14:36

Star I think you should go for it and dont worry I think all DH's can be difficult at the best of times!!

i HAVE HOOVERED!!

swanriver · 15/01/2010 14:58

goulash made
hoovering now

Starbear · 15/01/2010 15:03

TM Thanks you sweetheart.
How are you doing? Glad you've got a stratgy for curly haired terrorist. Are you still under snow? Are the morning a little calmer?

off to collect Ds in a mo but will catch up later.

Starbear · 15/01/2010 15:05

Swan Goulash, now there's a good idea. I haven't made that in years. Stuff for that will be on my shopping list now!

TeaMonster · 15/01/2010 15:31

We are off to Party - woohoo, we are under icey slushy snow. The road is actually like an ice rink. We have piles of snow where DH cleared the drive. it is actually harder to walk on that the snow we had

Starbear · 15/01/2010 19:53

Hi, Good chat with SAHM friend and she has helped me calm down as she has tons of aggro too! She is lovely. Back from playdate Ds being washed & Pj'd by DH and when he is in bed will will have a glass of wine and plan some hoilday dates.

scattyspice · 15/01/2010 20:05

OFM I think all parents have the same problem. I read a book once where the Mum said that she and DH managed a consistent approach with their children sometimes LOL I think that Just about sums it up.

star hope the wine is helping. Sorry about the ups and downs, but your post was very colourful at least .

Busy day again. Lots to do at work also Sainsburys shop and school runs. Dh has ordered 2 single beds for dc (they have long outgrown their toddler beds). Have been busy flinging toys to make some room!

BB tomorrow.

Starbear · 15/01/2010 20:34

Thank you scatty I din't want to bore you all but really need to express my self. Still can't figure out to get spell checker back loved that tool. We need to do a toy fling too.

OverflowingMum · 15/01/2010 20:52

star sounds like your dealing with a lot just now. Hope a relaxing evening and glass of wine helps.

swansounds like a busy day. Sounds like you do a great job in the library.

TM enjoy the party.

scatty LOL at sometimes consistant parenting!

Have recovered from argument! Parenting is tricky isnt it LOL Sometimes though I just want a bit of support from DH, not to be told I'm doing it wrong...ho hum..

Now looks much better and prettier....Really need new duvet cover now...off to browse ebay for bargains (darned Superking bed not the easiest or cheapest to buy for LOL)

swanriver · 15/01/2010 21:22

Dh clearly had a long and fruitful work lunch, he has now passed out and gone to bed and said he didn't want to be disturbed under any circumstances.

Dd has put her clothes outfor tomorrow, ds2 is roaming the house in search of Thunderbird 3, and ds1 is reading Jacqueline Wilson . Bit late really.

"The quality of consistency is not strained, it falleth as the gentle rain from heaven". Discuss

off to watch telly now
v. busy day tomorrow - we will be tried and found wanting I'm sure..
