Thanks for the thread, Swan
DH came home and fixed the heating, thanks for concern - it was lots of air in the pipes. He had only bled the raditors a fortnight ago seems like they need doing often.
DC at school/nursery. Not going to fritter the time today

To do
Move ironed clothes from living room
tidy downstairs
hotspot - dining table
Darks wash and hang on airer
Make pasta for DD and I for lunch
Make sandwiches for tea after dentist
Dentist after school
Empty dishwasher
Get some baby clothes from loft for DD large doll
Find stuff in loft for friend
Arrange and parcel up a birthday present
Edit a menu planning doc on computer

There will be more!

OverflowingMum · 14/01/2010 12:50

afternoon all

TM sorry you're having a down day...hang in there. Crown/homemade gifts sound lovely

swan you are making good progress....little steps remember!

wendyGlad heating turned out OK

GO on no re school...again! Fingers crossed for tomorrow

Well, all back at school here thankfully
Have been shopping
Then mostly just attended to DS2 and dd4 all morning. DS2 in the most testing phase of childhood I fear (although I havent really done teenagers yet so may revise that!)

Feeling a bit sort of on edge. Mostly due to underlying stress about return to work I think...trying to focus on positives...
Official interview will be in Feb...need to do LOTS of reading by then....ho hum

Also need to contact childminder.....

Lots to do this afternoon but motivation is lacking

DD4 is also 4 today...but we are actually not having her bday till a week on Sat as that is when her party is,and from past experience having Bday sepaerated from party by large gap always causes trouble for littlies!! (couldnt do party this weekend as DH away...)
Can't believe my baby girl is 4 though...

right, need to go and be useful...
BBL

TeaMonster · 14/01/2010 13:23

OFM How wonderful 4. They grow up far too fast. The sewing is going great guns it seems!!

swanriver · 14/01/2010 13:25

DONE
mushroom soup for dh's supper
pizza dough for kids's supper

Now errands - get rid of old clothes
An amazingthing has happened - a scrap metal dealer hs just appeared from nowhere, removed my old cooker from garden where it was lurking - and several bits of metal curtain pole! I knew someone needed them. I would have paid someone to take them away quite frankly

Going back to work is not irrevocable OFM, you could always try it for a while and see what happens? Tweak arrangements once settled in etc.
Toddlers are v. sweet aren't they, but quite stubborn
That must have been a busy Christmas when you were about to have dd4

Listening to news about Haiti, makes me very grateful for how small all my disasters have been.

OP posts:
OverflowingMum · 14/01/2010 13:45

TM yes sewing is going good Still quite thenovice- but improving daily!New addiction seems to be browsing ebay for bargain fabrics for wonderfully dreamy projects that will no doubt never happen...LOL

swan yes, twas a busy Christmas 4 years ago LOL I was very fat and exhausted LOL She was due on Jan 6th as well, but luckily gave me a few extra days to get over Christmas!

And indeed, Haiti really does put a lot in perspective...

wendyhappysmile · 14/01/2010 14:25

We are all reflecting on our good luck today when compared to what happens elsewhere in the world especially at the minute with Haiti. Let's all concentrate on the wonderful things which make our lives special. Today, mine are:
DD laughing uncontrollably as her soft toy chased then gobbled her chocolate buttons (yes it was me operating the soft toy LOL)
DS waving and blowing kisses at me through the window at school
DH waking me up early again (what is it with him this week?! )
My new wellies which have just arrived, I am wearing them now!

Hope you all manage to have calm and serene days.

BBL

wendyhappysmile · 14/01/2010 14:25

Happy birthday OFMDD4!!!

TeaMonster · 14/01/2010 16:29

DS1 has just asked me to "come and shake my bits off with him"

Makingchanges · 14/01/2010 16:34

Afternoon all

Wendy I bet you are glad for those wellies. I have lived in mine, I don't care what I look like they have been fantastic.

Tea - I bet he will love the presents.

OFM don't stress about the job (easier said than done I know, if it doesn't work out you are no worse off than now and if it does, it sounds like it will be great for you)

Busy day here - DD back at nursery after what appeared to be a 24 hour bug (although no nursery yesterday as need to be off for 48 hours after sickness) so I have done a couple of loads of washing, been to shops and stocked up fridge - had run out of bread and butter today and tesco not coming till tomorrow so still had to pop to shop but at least only for a few bits. Been into school, first time since xmas. Really enjoyed it. Emptied out fridge ready for tomorrows delivery.

Still to do

Cook chick tikka for tea
Sort out washed clothes pile that is taking over my spare room.
Tidy kitchen
Tidy lounge when dd gone to bed

BBL

swanriver · 14/01/2010 17:53

That sounds most alarming TM

I am getting cross with everyone...
but have cooked some dlicious pzza, using Cirio Salsina sauce (appd on Morrisons'shelves recently) and homemade dough
also some sesame broccoli salad for dh to eat later

lit a lovely fire in livingroom - found wood in shed. But shed is falling down so that is a new source of anxiety.

got rid of old clothes and shoes
hoovered hall and stairs

done 3 sets of homework - more gritted teeth
although ds1 is really enjoying his

supervised Wii (it is driving me nuts - I'll have to ban it) now had one child in hysterics, and one child lying on floor howling becuase I had switched it off before he'd saved level thingmungjig

My feet are really hurting too, carpel tunnel or arthritis not sure, may need laceup shoes after all. Or shagpile.

Have to go to communion prayer meeting tonight as part of communion programme. Am NOT in mood for faithsharing.
