We're a family of 6 in a small house.

We have one dirty laundry basket.

I wash nearly every day or sometimes do 2 or 3 loads every other day.

Wash clothes and use a 900 spin. All clothes that normally go on coathangers are put straight onto coat hangers and dry on the eitherthe outside washing line got coathanger attachment things from betterware so they can't blow off easily, or in wet/winter they are hung on the curtian rail in the dining area. They are then put away into wardrobes once dried - no ironing required.

Socks/pants/vests etc are either dried outside on line or in winter etc in tumble dryer after being spun on maximum. The dc are then often forced to play sock snap to help sort into piles and it gets put away in drawers either by them or us.

I use folding crates for dry washing but once sorted it is put straight into drawers or occasionally on top of their drawers.

Wash clothes at least every other day.

In between days do a towel wash or bedding wash or 'special' washes.

Put non-ironables into airing cupboard.

Iron everything else as soon as they are dry (easier in winter as I use the tumble drier)

Hang in airing cupboard for rest of day.

Following day, empty airing cupboard and put clothes away/give to wearers to put away.

Easy!

Bedding gets washed an dried on the same day.

I always put the load I'm washing that day on first thing in the morning, it goes downstairs with me etc it is then usually finished not long after I'm back from school run so plenty of drying time or time to put next load on. We do just about have enough spare bedding for each bed but it is not regularly used it's easier to wash and put straight back on.

Towels we have one bath sheet thing each plus a couple of spares, again plan to get is washed and dried so it can be used again next time.

Hand towels go in with normal wash, once clean one is dry it goes out to use and dirty one in wash so gets refreshed every other day like that.

I used to have 2 in washable nappies at the same time and somehow they just got done - nappies washed each night then hung out to dry overnight etc.
