We had a sunny day just before Christmas and my grubby windows looked terrible. I got out the windowlene...never before been used...and a couple of j-cloths. I scrubbed and then dried and tried to polish. But I couldnt get rid of the smears, I wish I hadnt started they look worse than before! I thought I remembered something about vinegar so then tried that but again to no avail...
Tips please, what do you use?

I use windowlene and newspaper. No cloths

Yes, I spray the windows a few times with the cleaner, then scrunch up a sheet of newspaper and wipe. Sometimes, I use kitchen roll instead which still comes out better than a cloth, but newspaper is best.
Never use a cloth on windows.

Never clean your windows on a sunny day, somehow it always smears.

Just use water with vinegar in it, and one of those microfibre cloths. "Dry" it with newspaper straightaway.

Always works, never smears, I am a slut of a housewife, but my windows would rival Aggie's. (t'is about the only thing I manage to do right)
