Whirlpool baths - what do you use to clean out the pipes

I have a Duravit Whirlpool bath. I think you are meant to run something through it every few months to keep the pipes clean, someone suggested milton and running the bubbles for about 10 mins..can anyone tell me it this is right or if not an alternative, thanks.

Really, well that prob could do the trick too, as those things have mild disinfectant in them too I think..

yep dishwasher tablets do it. fill with water add the tablet/powder and then switch on for about 5-10 mins, beware that all the shit muck stuck in the pipes and jets will get into the bath, like all the hair etc[vomit emotion] but apparently should be done every three months.
i only know as mum does hers regualrly and whena friend moved recently i wouldnt let her put her kids in untill it had been done...she was extremely glad when she saw what came out looked likea bear had been shaved, but the smell was gone!

IIRC you should put in a few tabs because its a much larger volume of water than a diswasher. And of course then refill with plain water for a rinse through.

Haven't done mine for ages but we only bath the dog in it (without the whirlpool on!), the rest of us prefer the normal bath.

do you still need the answer? Dh works in a plumbing and heating shop and would know the answer. They also sell bathrooms including whirlpool baths. He's not here right now but I could ask him when he gets back

Hi , i would like to know tha answer as we have a bath like that .

Thanks

the dishwasher tablets sounds good.

Eddas · 09/01/2010 16:07

right, dh says that you should use whirlpool cleaner he also says dishwasher tablets might not be a good idea as the residue will be in the pipes, you turn on the bath and, well, I don't think i'd want to wash in a dishwasher!!

CaptainUnderpants · 09/01/2010 16:57

thanks

like this?

Eddas · 09/01/2010 18:43
