Has anybody used a freezer defrosting spray?

Our freezer is much too full to consider switching it off and defrosting it in the traditional (slow) way, so I was wondering if anybody had tried any of the defrosting sprays that are available and if so did they work?

Haven't tried a spray but I find sliding a tub of boiling water on one of the shelves speeds the process up.

Hi,

I have one I bought from Kleeneze.

Absolute rubbish. Don't bother. It melts the ice so slowly and you have to squirt so much on that you could easily go through the whole can and still not have it defrosted.

As Mrsrisotto says, I find the quickest way is to fill long deep baking trays with boiling water and sit them on the shelves.

I also use trays of boiling water.
