good morning all. I have missed you lovely lovely ladies.

I hope everyone had a very very merry xmas and spent yesterday relaxing with their feet up.

I apologise profusely for my extended absence. I can't tell you some of the stuff that's been going on because it is work related and is therefore verboten. But it's safe to say we have been having a very hard time of it lately and this christmas week off is very welcome and to be enjoyed with great fervor.

I have done a few little jobs this morning but am really just getting up and getting dressed. Then like grouchy I need to do a post dp-cooking clean up. After that we are going to look in the sales to see if there is a tumble drier that we can afford. The motor burnt out in ours a couple of weeks ago and I am struggling to get through the washing and the house looks like its been hit by a wet-clothes tornado.

swanriver · 27/12/2009 10:23

I've spent a fair proportion of the holidays washing up it must be said.
But I didn't mind, as dh was doing the lego...
washing up is quite restful in comparison...

Today we are having a very powerful attack of "don't want to see anyone-itis" and have re-scheduled a guest till Wed. More guests tomorrow [fthinkaboutthattomorrow]

Now I am going to tidy my room it is so so messy.

swanriver · 27/12/2009 10:41

Anyone whose husband cooks, however flamboyantly, you should bless your cotton socks for them.
Dh has not cooked a single meal except breakfast.
And he has done his usual very annoying trick of complaining that something was left out last night, when last night he was complaining that I wasn't in bed...

swanriver · 27/12/2009 10:56

I forgive him now, he has taken the kids out to the park and has reset himself to serene capable father function.
NOW BEDROOM - I could sweep the kitchen floor all day and it would never be crumbfree.

swanriver · 27/12/2009 12:17

I've tidied most of my bedroom, but pile of clothes to be hung up still remains & hoovering of floor..
and now I have to cook lunch as everyone has returned.
still, all is calm - & I can see that dh is now on a short fuse after park and needs a nice lunch.
deep breath

swanriver · 27/12/2009 17:15

now feel completely zonked.
but still need to hoover the blooming carpet
children have been playingnicely all afternoon dh has been reading nicely too

wendyhappysmile · 27/12/2009 18:45

Lots of tidying going on.
I am Very Ill. Don't know if it's a virus or infection as I don't think I've swallowed all day! Throat, ears very sore.
Ho hum. have done little today, some sleeping.
see you tomorrow.

You all sound very active - I suppose I have managed to do 2 loads of washing but have also managed some wine . And mopped sticky kitchen floor. Also lovely sledging with dcs. Not quite up on the decluttering yet. Also rabbit and hutch in hall on account of sub zero temps. And straw, bits of hay etc.....

Am at my parents. Travelled down yesterday. Packing up and organising very stressfull. 2 hour car journey in traffic jams with 6 DC and a dog very stressful. Manic chaos and my mothers insistance on constantly feeding DC orange squash and sweets very stressful.Dog has been sick this morning -now not well and looking sad in her bed....I fear my mother has also been feeding her orange squash and sweets -very,very stressful.Father in grumpy mood and cant really cope with small children-very stressful.DC all quitemanic, full of sugar and out of control, very, very stressful!!!
Keep thinking of lovely calm Spring days, and my daffodil and tulip bulbs making an appearance, and birds singing, and children playing happily in the garden and.....sigh...deep breath!
Have left house a tip...so will have to face that on return tomorrow...
BUTdid do my bedroom before I left...and have lovely cleanb sheets..so a little haven to return to

Have a wedding to go to on Saturday as well so need to sort stuff for that...

Next year Iam asking for a day off for Christmas ...just one day...with nothing to do/cook/sort/tidy and no where to go and no-one else to please/keep happy...

Mustdash...willbe back tomorrow eve
