can someone answer this? please

today i came over all domestic goddesy and decided to make some bread , but when i got the flour out it was crawling with little tiny beasties . this was a new bag of unopened alison bread flour and was stored inside a large airtight container.(ocd, i know)
ive since spent the day bleaching everything in sight ,in my kitchen.
im left wondering where the beasties came from? how did they get in?
my skin is still crawling at the thought .

They are flour mites. I'm not sure there is much you can do - they would have been there from before packaging so it isn't your kitchen.

They sound like flour weevils and may have already been in the flour.
Contact the firm who made it, they may help.
