it only cost £3.50 and the lady folded them! I don't have a tumble dryer and got sick of washing hanging as I have all open plan downstairs, so thought I'll just leave them there and pay the £1.50 extra. Bargain!

I thought you were going to say you couldn't go and get them due to the snow.

Curiousmama · 21/12/2009 20:08

It's in the north east. I've done another load of stuff, bedding etc... and am taking that tomorrow. I think as the driers are so huge it doesn't matter, within reason, how much you take? Couldn't believe how nicely folded they were, just as I'd do it

Eaglebird · 21/12/2009 20:30

Yes, Curious, where is this wonderful launderette? My radiators are groaning under the weight of damp clothes.

... yes, I know you're not supposed to dry clothes on radiators... but we all do it...

Curiousmama · 21/12/2009 22:10

I'd love to say but I'm hiding on here as it is Ring round your local ones AboardtheAxiom and see if they do it as cheap.. it could be one of those

Will do Curiousmama

Handy to know for sicky days, bad weather week, etc, I had assumed it would be much more than that so thanks for posting.

I do a fortnightly trip to the laundrette with a suitcase full. Even though my washing machine can be on every other day, i seem to fight a losing battle with my laundry basket.

It costss 6.50 for a wash and dry - although the dont fold them and sometimes i end up pyaing to have it ironed as well, costing £15.

I think, what the hell, life's too short to spend it washing, drying and ironing clothes. I have much more time at the weekends for quality time with my family and when monday morning comes around i can always put my hand on some freshly ironed clothes for us all.

That's worth £15 to me

Curiousmama · 22/12/2009 11:15

Yes I agree lorrycat, I used to be like a chinese laundry but it's much clearer this week. It's 7.50 at ours for a wash and dry I think?

My drier isn't working and I can't get an engineer until the 28th.

I sent DH today with a load of towels this morning, the lady dried and folded them for £2.40, well worth it, he said he'd have paid double rather than sit and wait for them to dry on his day off .
