Home Blessings to all
My dcs are already quarrelling
Their friends are coming round in a moment to do some "amateur dramatics" - it may end in disaster
now I need to put on a smile

Morning all

Swan you are brave

Last minute change of plans this morning as DD usually goes to Doncaster on Monday but thought wasn't worth the trouble fighting through the snow this morning so we are spending the day together and I have cancelled my appointment to stay home all day.

However just realised that I have no bread in the house and thought i'd made some rather than sliding to the shops and can't find the breadmaking instruction manual so i'm just trying to print it off the interweb.

So jobs today:-
Last minute forgotten cards written and sent with DH
Xmas decs down from loft ready to be put up this afternoon
Need a room rescue in the lounge to make it clear enough for decs to go up.
2nd load of Washing in machine
Bread about to be in breadmaker.
Going to look in freezer for food for tea

Better get on
BBL

Good luck with the bread - I know everyone on here is a seasoned bread maker (except me)
Your house will smell lovely!

The kids have played very nicely with their friends all morning, homegrown puppet show, picnic, lunch etc. Now I'm feeling a bit ill, and slightly harassed by mud, and mayhem - just trying to re-establish some sort of pecking order in this house . I AM choosing the film this afternoon, as I want to sit down and knit in front of it. Ds1 is in tears that it is a BORING film, so I've sent him to another room

No snow now or ice, just pouring with rain.

Well Done Swan - I'd love to know what its like to be able to watch your own programmes, I'm always behind DH and DD in the pecking order.

Bread just finished so having warm bread and butter for dinner - Yumy. Found a pizza in freezer earlier for DD but she seems to be liking my bread now.

Tree is half up - Its artificial and needs the branches spreading out but i've taken a rest as its not looking much like a tree yet and i'm getting frustrated with it. Had to unpack it really carefully as it looks like a mouse has nibbled at the box.

Lounge is looking better though and found some sausages in the fridge for tea so no need to leave my lovely warm house - yippee

Back later

The tree is up. Never ever again am I doing it with a 4 year old, she kept taking the baubles off to look at them closer cos they looked pretty. Now we are all sitting in the dark admiring our handywork. DD face was a picture when I switched the main lights off and put the tree lights on, she looked so proud of herself.

And I've just logged onto Tesco and managed to get the last remaining delivery slot and rang DH who gave me his order for work (alcohol) so that will save me fighting with the crowds.

I feel really satisfied with myself.

swanriver · 21/12/2009 17:22

And my little elves have posted the last four godchild/sis/neph presents for me, running up and down the street through the falling snow (yes it's transmogrified again) to the distant postbox. One way to keep them fit

Getting them to wrap the presents though and help label, was a exercise in teeth gritting though. Ds2 can't even spell his own name anymore.
TM - I am sure you are doing a lot better than me

MC - she won't be four next year she'll be five! Down with crowds, I'm certainly not going anywhere near one till Xmas Eve.

TM HAPPY BDAY!!!!

grouchy thank flip for internet shopping ....how did we survive without it LOL

ruby yay for last day at work tomorrow!

Well fairly ok day....

DC been playing in the limited snow....followed by hot choccie!

Then quick trip to the shops to allow DC to all choose a new decoration for tree...as tradition dictates!

Slightly {shock] and tosee them actually taking down all the Christmas stuff and replacing with ordinary stock already...suppose I should be glad they weren't putting the Easter eggs out LOL

On the plus side we did get decorations very cheap LOL

Have also icedour Christmas cake...all joined in ...great fun! Sadly only me who likes it .....so I have a lot of cake to eat!

Also last parcl from toysrus arrived...phew!
And I have FINALLY finished making 7sock monkeys double phew!!Now just another 3scarves to knit for them...

And I have booked local chinese restaurant for lunch on Christams Eve....DC LOVE going out to eat...but due to expense of taking 8 people out it hardly ever happens ....anyway ,found place with very good value eat all you can buffet lunch...and have just about enough money left from Christmas budget ....so yay!

right...need to gotackle sadly neglected washing....BBtomorrow....

OverflowingFestiveMum · 21/12/2009 18:57
