The man is coming to requote my kitchen on the 24th and I need to decide on a dishwasher. If yours is fab and reliable, recommend it here. There are 4 of us if it helps, and I bake a lot.

i used to have a bosch and it was brilliant - i'm not sure of the model but it was a mid-range one. fantastic at cleaning, easy to stack. generally great. gave it to PIL as we moved and now have an integrated dishwasher.

the integrated dishwasher we have is hotpoint and is useless. when we bought it we were a bit skint and thought 'a dishwasher is a dishwasher'. how wrong we were! the hotpoint is crap at cleaning and a nightmare to stack - the damn thing is over 2 yars old now and i'm hoping it will break so i have an excuse to replace it. would def get a bosch again - our old machine is 5 years old and still going strong. i stare at it longingly when we visit PIL.

Thanks ceres.I've never had one before,so didn't think about ease of stacking, cleaning ect. That's useful to know.

We have a Miele which is very good - probably the best dishwasher we have ever had.

Unlike ceres, we have had bad experiences with Bosch - dishwasher, washing madhine and fridge freezer all had lots of faults and only lasted on average 2 years. Would never buy Bosch again tbh. We now have a Miele washing machine and dishwasher and are very happy with both. We also bought them online using discount codes and offers that were around at the tiume and got them at very good prices and 10 year guarantees.

purplepeony · 21/12/2009 10:32

Miele...had it for ages and no probs.

Lilymaid · 21/12/2009 10:54

We've had no problems with Bosch dishwashers except that the first one only lasted 13 years before we had to replace it!

If money isn't a problem Miele is the best make, but if money is tight a basic model Bosch would be a good choice. More expensive models have more programmes, but in practice you rarely use them all.

My mum has a Bosch which she's really happy with, but ours is a Miele as I am a Miele devotee. We also have a Miele washing machine and that's brill too, same goes for the tumble drier and vacuum cleaner (which is pretty much indestructible).

I love the cutlery tray on mine but not all models have the cutlery tray I don't think - It gives you a lot more stacking space in the lower basket and I LOATHE cutlery baskets as they always seem to tip over and get full of gunk IME. Get a Miele with a cutlery tray at the top

Fizzylemonade · 22/12/2009 14:04

I agree with everyone above, I love the Miele because of the cutlery tray in the top of the machine meaning you have more space in the bottom,

We always have bosch (my washing machine is still alive and kicking after 7 years) our dishwasher is only 3 years old but before that we had one in our last house which we had for 5 years before we moved. It was freestanding and we had an integrated one here so didn't bring it.

The one here was an indesit. Awful and useless.

The bosch one has a counter-weighted door meaning that when you open it the door doesn't just swing down under its own weight, rocking the machine. It cleans amazingly well on the Eco 50 setting. I love it. If it wasn't integrated I would be taking it with me to the next house.

moocowme · 22/12/2009 21:10

got a bosch and its good. had it for 4 years now and not a problem.

mumzy · 24/12/2009 10:12

Miele gets my vote other brands leave stains etc and the Miele design is the best esp for cutlery

extremelychocolateymilkroll · 29/12/2009 23:50

Winetimeisfinetime - we are considering getting a Miele. Could I ask where you got the discount codes and 10 year guarantee? Sorry to hijack. TIA

thisisyesterday · 29/12/2009 23:51

we have a bosch classixx (their cheapest range) and it's fabulous. would highly recommend it.

would have got miele if i could have afforded it, but tbh the bosch is doing brilliantly.
nearly 4 years now of daily use and never had a problem thus far
