Hi all, ive seen these lovely cinnamon and dried out orange decorations/garlands being sold and think they look lovely and smell gorgeous but bloomin eck, they are quite expensive. Does anyone know how to make them?? The oranges have little sections cut out of the skin and they are dried.

I don't think this is what I mean, but you can make lovely smelling decorations by sticking cloves into an orange. Google pomander.

They take a few days to make... you need to cut some slits in oranges and place them in a very low heat oven, takes forever to dry out completely and with the cost of gas/electricity nowadays, you may be cheaper off buying.... Otherwise you can just cut an orange into slices and dry this in the oven, a lot faster...

ahh a good idea. How long do you think whole ones would take because i was thinking of making some to give to people as gifts so i would be doing a large batch. Are we talking more than 12ish hours? if so ill just do the sections of orange.
