Why is my fridge running with water?

For the last month or so our fridge has been running with water. There is constantly a huge pool at the bottom. It is at around 3degC. I think I've moved everything away from the back of the fridge, and the fridge door seal looks OK to me. Any ideas as to what might be wrong or what else to try?

The drain may be blocked at the back. Check the inside back wall and there should be a hole where the water drains and evaporates at the back. If it is blocked, the water will pool.

Our fridge has a little ledge at the back with a drainage hole in it. If that gets blocked we also get the pool of water at the bottom.

The fridge came with a little plunger (about the side of a golf tee but thinner) to poke about in the hole which usually does the trick.

Have a look to see if you've got a similar arrangement.

side size.

Little hole which leads to outside blocked? You should see a v-shaped ledge leading to an outlet on inside back wall of fridge, down which any condensed moisture runs, to evaporate at the hot coils at outside back of fridge.
Mine was full of yuk, and pool of water collected as a result. Cleared, water problem solved.

What nigglewiggle said. There should be some kind of little hole low down at the back inside, and you probably need to get a Q-tip and wiggle it around in the hole to clear out gunk (I only know this thanks to MN).

Mine does this sometimes. In my fridge, there is a small hole at the back of the fridge at the bottom where water run off escapes.
If this gets blocked up, then the water can't escape and it pools under the vegetable drawers.
You need to clean the hole and make sure its not blocked up if your fridge is anything like mine.

Ah ha, general concensus of opinion there. I know the little ledge & drain thingy you're all referring to so will have a look tomorrow. Thank you!

MN is great for solving all life's little problems
