Ecover laundry products - are they any good?

I'm thinking of swaping my normal washing powder and softener to the ecover laundry powder and softener due to me doing a load me washing every day and feeling a bit guilty about eco and stuff. Just wondering how it compares to normal non-bio powder and softener? Thanks

I've been using them for years, you won't get a bluey-whiteness, but that's because theres no bleach/brightners.
It's good for generally levels of dirt, however sometimes I do pre soak whites with washing soda or that pink stuff (sorry can't remember what its called)
Main evil is tomato sauce or soup.

I use Ecover washing liquid or Tesco own brand on a 40 degree synthetics wash. Any badly stained stuff I put in with a towel wash which I do at 50 degrees on a cotton wash. Never had any problems. Never have used softener so can't comment on that. When I had wash balls I'd use one of them and half a capful of Ecover and it worked well. Dd1 works on the fish counter at Waitrose and it gets her uniform and apron into a presentable state each week.

I use the fabric softener and think it smells lovely. Scented but not overpoweringly so. I use Fairy tablets for washing powder (one per wash rather than the two they recommend). Any tough stains get a soak in Biotex first.

I use ecover liquid. Whites could be whiter (but maybe not since most of them are school boy aertexes...)

The biological powder is great.

The non-bio is rubbish imo though.

Softener is lovely. Smells like real stuff.

You can get Ecover laundry bleach if your white's aren't getting white enough.

I use the non-bio liquid, I'm allergic to Bio. I prefer the yellow cap fabric softener, but it's soo difficult to get hold of, so I use the pink cap one - it's fine.

I prefer the Ecover stuff as it doesn't make your washing smell like a whore's handbag, unlike some brands. I find stains don't always come out, but find the same with Persil.
