electric plug in cup of tea!!!!

Have just found plug for george formby grill in a cup of tea
I've rinsed it(cringe)and shook it and put it on the radiator to dry, my question is how long should I leave it? or do you think it will be completely ruined?

I had similar issues when dh thoughtfully stored the microwave plug in a pot full of water.

I dismantled it and dried what I could see with a hairdryer. Took fuse out and dried it as well, before re-assembling.

I used a circuit-breaker to plug it into first time, just in case there was still water in it.

I've been lucky and microwave still works.
