Is it still worth line drying in this weather?

6 degrees here. My house suffers from condensation so I would rather dry outside even if the clothes will only get half dry. But will they even dry at all?

I tried yesterday and they were actually wetter when they came in to the house. The new plan is to give every load an extra spin and then hang them around the house.

Yes, my house gets damp too so i dry outside whenever possible. Had clothes out yesterday and they were mostly dry when i brought them in and will have finished drying overnight on the clothes horse. So long as there's at least a little breeze they normally do ok outside.

Is it windy or still there though?

MarthaFarquhar · 29/11/2009 09:10

fairly still - garden is very sheltered.

hmm, I would probably stick it out anyway. Its the only way you'll know for sure. If its still soggy when you bring it in then you'll know not to bother again.

Or put it on clothes horse outside, then you won't have to rehang it all again later on if its still wet, just bring the airer inside.

Certainly not in this weather- it's torrential out there. If it's really windy I might give it a go. I try to hang nappies outside whenever possible, though, seems to brighten them up a bit.
