why does my sink stink like poo??

The smell is coming up from drains. This happens with our utility room sink. What's up with it please...it's really DISGUSTING!!!! I'm pouring bleach and all kind of things but it's not working.

can you clean out the ubend thing?

maybe that has something really gross in it?

Does your utility room drain to the outside into an open drain? If the outside drain may be full of muck in the bottom and that is rottng it will emiting a smell. Clean that out and see if the smell disappears.

Otherwise if your utility room pipe drains into a toilet outfall pipe that may be blocked with sewage.

Sorry.... try caustic soda down the plughole, works very well at clearing out smelly blockages.

Reminds me of a story I read in the paper yesterday. Someone has been contaminating potatoes at a potato processing plant in Carisle by crapping on them.

well...only poo I put in my sink is leftover bit that gets stuck in the potty....which I imagine is tiny teeny tiny teeny amount...but could that have built up?? oooh yuck I'll try the caustic soda. Thank you for the advice. Otherwise DH and I have no clue about how to clean out the outside drain or cleaning out the ubend..??? idiot DIYers really.
