mission.

Hope everyone is ok today.

Up and at it today as DD slept all night and has woken in a far better mood (as have I). Hopefully she'll stay that way as she has been truly testing my patience this week (and found my patience to be wanting I'm afraid ). I am feeling better too for the sleep but not going to work today.

To do:
DC to school
sainsburys
change beds
banking
water plants
read book
collect dc
feed dc
dc to gymnastics and back

Galen - do you get your house back today?
Tea - hope your having an up kinda day today .

BBL.

Hi scatty its good you are finally managing to catch up on some sleep.
Hi knickers drying washing can be a pain when the weather is horrible.
Sorry fro my erattic posting I am not very organised at the mo and don't know the day seems to evaporate before I have woken up properly.
ok so today
dishwasher reload
load of washing
fold sheets and duvets (if dry) and put away
hang washing somewhere
print off some photos to fill depressingly empty photo frames
lunch (sandwiches)
dinner
some phone calls
ironing dh shirts (sigh)
drop off and pick up dcs from school

swanriver · 24/11/2009 09:41

Hello Scatty, thanks for thread
Good for you - keep recharging
I had some wine last night watching Grumpy Old Women - nice with apricots and goat's cheese but has not agreed with me, even small glass of red.

To do
cook the food I bought yesterday into nourishing stews and casseroles for week ahead c/f
sweep kitchen floor
give ds1 more breakfast as he has refused porridge saying reminded him of hospital
put away dry laundry
continue schoolwork
go to school with ds1 to discuss his schoolwork
enjoy rest of afternoon pottering in and out with ds
piano practice ME

Sister has rung to say public service sector on strike in Ireland, no school today etc. Her husband has had three pay cuts and a tax increase .

swanriver · 24/11/2009 10:29

Right, have brought ds laboriously downstairs
and now he is doing spelling
after getting sidetracked singing Queen on the bottom step Don't Stop Me Now..

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 24/11/2009 11:03

Swan Ed got obsessed with 'Don't stop me now' The school have a dance routine to it and key stage 1 have to do it at the end of lunchtime. As a dinnerlady I've heard it more times than I care to remember and the lyrics are rubbish. They played it at the swimming pool and Ed got out and did the routine at the side of the pool in his trunks, armbands and goggles

OOh, sorry, stream of conciousness there

ahem...scuse me.....Morning FLYladies

Cheers for the thread Scatty Much sympathy as Ed has been seriously testing my fragile patience from up time to bed time

Tea Sweetie, are you feeling better? Is there anything I can do? This murky weather just makes you feel flat at the best of times.

Knickers are we now neighbours? I'm not far from Wendy

Hello to Leo Ruby Wolf WendyEMH and everybody else.

Right, I have 45 mins to do a home bleurghing. BBL

swanriver · 24/11/2009 11:48

what a great picture Grouchy but The Year of 39 has quite good lyrics or are they pseudy? Didn't realise till now that McFly had nabbed Don't Stop Me for a Sports fest.

School meeting. School very upbeat but doesn't want him back till he's on two legs, ie: Feb. So need to ring the Council about home tutor support, on school's advice. Feel curiously free, don't know why, hope honeymoon doesn't wear off.
I need to ask your advice about Home Ed principles Galen!

swanriver · 24/11/2009 11:48

Handed him his violin and left him to his own devices...
but otherwise fallen behind in housework it must be said
quick blitz now!

Simply · 24/11/2009 16:01

Sorry, this is probably going to be really disjointed.

Oh, hang on, it's getting worse! Ds has just rung to say he has missed the bus so I need to go to town to fetch him and I've had a friend request on FB. I joined FB to be able to chat to others going to the MN meet-up and now my friend in NY has spotted me (despite me using my first forename which hardly anyone knows me by, but, silly me, I have both my forenames in my e-mail address so more and more people are going to learn it!) and FB is freaking me out as I can't cope with having more friends to reply to! I was pleased to have Skype in the beginning until I realised that I'd have to be a) dressed by say 9am and b) looking human, oh, and c) the kitchen (where the pc is) needing to be tidy.

I give up. It's time to fetch ds. I'll try to post properly later.

TM Fwiw, I agree with Ruby.

Ruby Wow, that's some logistic problem or puzzle!

leo Did you have to mention raspberry muffins?! I love raspberries. I like most fruits but raspberries are my absolute favourites. Well done with so many dones on your list.

knickers You've done really well today, too!

Hello to everyone else. I'd better not do any more individual posts as I need to crack on and make tea. I didn't realise until I reached the freezer aisle today that there is such a thing as pre-prepared stir fry veg. Ah. I learn something new each day.

My done list:-
~ haircut
~ doc's app't
~ food shopping
~ unloaded and reloaded d/w

Time to get tea ready and do some more. I've just remembered that I'm supposed to collect dd in an hour. Oh,dear. If dh is home in time, I could possibly teach him how to cook the stir fry [doubtful emoticon]

OverflowingFestiveMum · 24/11/2009 18:00

evening all
am hiding in bedroom leaving dh to it....
tryingtocope with the fall outfromthe visit still...andtrying to work out if I am justified in being really peed off with dh and his handling of the whole thing....or if he was in a difficult situation...although partly his causing in the first place...then again his family are notoriously difficult to handle....then again he knows this...etc.......then again I may just be being extremely grumpy and taking it out on him unfairly...

TM Lots of un-mn hugs to you.Hang in there...things WILL pick up.....

swan school position seems a bit extreme? I have seen kids on crutches etc at DC school....arethey just trying to get out of having to make any effort to accomodate him? Or maybe you are both happy with arrangement...in which case have loads of fun with home edding till then!! When we Home Ed we used to do sort of mix of formal stuff...literacy/numeracy mostly, then a lot of project type work which would cover some combination of science/geog/history depending on what were doing....a lot of the time project stuff followed kids own interest and included topics such as Antarctica, Ancient Eygypt,Rainforests,Dragons and Mythical Creatures etc....LOL....we also went to loads of group stuff(like a drama group)...but that wont be so easy for you....and then obviously stuff like music,arts/crafts etc...sports clubs, ice skating etc....
Anyway...feel free to pick my brains!

right....need to go and consider dinner for me and dh....
although am still feeling mightily irritated at him...justified or not

OverflowingFestiveMum · 24/11/2009 18:03

grouchy LOL "whoosh they were gone" indeed
Smirks at visions of SIL on broomstick....very fitting...

scattyspice · 24/11/2009 19:32

OFM - my dh tends to invite his family over/arrange a visit to his family then leave me to entertain them while he reads the paper/hides in the kitchen . Is that what you ment?

OP posts:
Simply · 24/11/2009 19:55

The evening is not going well as I'm drinking a glass of red wine and I've had half a custard slice and I had a (small) choc bar at lunch time as I was in town food shopping and couldn't get home for lunch until about 3pm. The dog hasn't been walked yet; dh has been driving in the rain on country roads (just like yest) and dd wants me to help her to make a b/d cake for a friend in a mo. Ds is in town (again) and will need to be collected at 9.45pm.

Overflowing If you were asking for my two pennorth (and I know you're not!) then I'd suggest that you say to dh "Well, that visit is over and we've survived" and raise a toast to having the house to yourselves again!

swan I just wanted to say, thankyou, yes, yesterday was tiring but thankfully it is now over and both ds and dd have had their first experience of a funeral which is hard but important as I think it prepares you for losing a grandparent or a parent. They have lost two gps already, actually (my ps), but they were too young to go to the funerals. Waffling now, sorry.

Okay. Time to tidy the kitchen ready for making a cake with dd!

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 24/11/2009 20:22

Blinking flip Simply what a mare of a day!

TM Hang in there, > to you

DH at the football, I've made and had tea and put away and tidies up. I've managed to wrestle some schoolwork out of Ed but he's wriggled out of his writing practice

I have stopped. *simply, hope you have too
