morning all.....it's the weekend!

OP posts:

Simply - simple answer - No to school, H & S and no lifts or any other disabled pupils. [So far it's fine, and rather nice to have him at home learnng things at a different pace - as he is only 9...and hates research normally and the great thing is it is giving him a real window to do lots of music practise. Just have to keep him away from computer really

swanriver · 22/11/2009 15:06

Also, he hates being stared at, so sending him in a wheelchair is not going to help hs selfesteem - he is quite shy. We are going to Scouts week after next though when he's a bit better on his crutches, as they are preparing a Xmas performance rather than just sporty things.

More online Xmas shopping. Ed is now totally sorted. Sourced stuff for DF and his DP. Feel like I've been totally lazy but it's been hard work, honest. I have to collect it from Argos tomorrow.

Oh further dones

Made beds
Emptied upstairs bins
Put away washing that has been lurking round the bedroom for weeks
Sorted out Ed's wardrobe (He has tons of stuff to grow into so he'll be fine til oooh about spring )
Sew name tapes in clothes and hammer a new clip onto school trews (badly)
Locate new cat's hidey hole.

TO DO

Dust and vac bedroom
Make lunches for tomorrow
Empty TD
Fold and put away
Get clothes ready for tomorrow
Make brownies and Rocky road crunch
Ironing

Everything quiet and under control what's happening!?!

swanriver · 22/11/2009 15:16

Anyway, meeting someone next week from school to discuss the situation in more detail, now that he doesn't need to have his leg up all the time.
NOW HOOVERING. Dh has taken boys out to park.

Simply · 22/11/2009 16:49

swan Ah, right! My ds is the boy who didn't look back at the age of 3 when he entered his new school and didn't know a soul! We'd just moved house to this area and had immediately gone on hols for a few days so he started his new school a few days late and wasn't fazed at all despite not really being able to speak Welsh at that age and it being a Welsh medium school. Dd on the other hand .... . She has since grown hugely in confidence, I have to say. I bet it's lovely to have your ds at home. I'd love to see more of my two but only one at a time otherwise they just find things to grumble about concerning the other one!

grouchy Well done on all you've done. I can see I'm going to have to get cracking on the Christmas shopping. [yikes!]

Now off to collect dd. I hope I don't get asked in as I have unwashed hair as I didn't get to go swimming. I may wear my £1 from Woolies in Belfast hat!

Starbear · 22/11/2009 17:18

swanOh I remember now! I just didn't think he would need a wheelchair. How naive of me.
Wendy Remind me to tell you about Mum's friend that took advantage. Oh! & I had a friend like that too.
Must dash Santa's letter took most of the afternoon to write!!

swanriver · 22/11/2009 17:38

Star [whisper]how is the eating going? I've done well yest and today, but feeling a bit hungry now. Going to have some hot choc made with water to stave off cravings.
Hoovering [aka exercise]also done.

Wolfcub · 22/11/2009 18:57

evening all

mixed bag of a day. some great highs and some crappy lows

ds has just bounced out of the shower to tell me he is a dragon

Simply · 22/11/2009 19:47

Wolfcub Are you a goodie (and therefore going to be spared a horrible and untimely death) or are you a baddie (and already turned into a pile of ash following his breath of flame?)

swan I have a trick I use on myself. Apparently I'm highly suggestible, so I say to myself "You can have anything you like. Next breath - As long as it's fruit or yogurt." I find that once I've thought that then I can cope with the temptation I was feeling. Yesterday, though, I had two pomegranates to distract myself and then I had another glass of white wine anyway!

Starbear · 22/11/2009 20:22

Wendy hope the party went well. about the girl.

Not got much to say really.

erm....

Nope.

Fedup.

Will come back tomorrow. New week new start and all that.

Simply · 22/11/2009 23:12

swan I'm sorry if my posts earlier came across as insensitive. Sometimes I can sound very ... Oh, you just need to do this! when I write things down. Sorry again.

Starbear I read you post earlier about doing your nails and I looked down at mine. Not good. I must do something before going out next w/e. In fact, I've a funeral to go to tomorrow so should give my nails a scrub and a polish and I haven't sorted out my clothes yet and we have to leave at 7.45am. What am I like? Sorry for the poor English btw. I kept myself awake last night by coughing all the time.

knickers Sorry to hear that you've not had a good day (by the sounds of it). Anything I can help with?

I'll not be on the thread until tomorrow evening so bye until then.

Starbear · 23/11/2009 09:31
