Morning .

OP posts:
scattyspice · 19/11/2009 08:05

mission.

Wolf - and those whos DC get frustrated with their art work - Mine both the same. They have an image in their head of how they want it to look (ie perfect) and get totally frustrated when it doesn't turn out that way. DD likes to experiment with patterns (esp if it involve glitter and goggly eyes). But she always turns it into a game where she is the teacher and teddy is doing the picture LOL. DS will do cards with stampers but thats about it. Happy days.

To do
floors
bathroom
homework.

Have a v. disgusting house so going to try to fly

swanriver · 19/11/2009 09:39

Hello, Wonderstuff, I'll join you in that battle this morning

First have to do ds's leg exercises

What are my goals for today?
hoover bags errand with ds
catfood
paperwork from 1-2pm
Prune vine, plant bulbs and sweep up back terrace

Otherwise, I need to fit in
the schooly schedule for ds and a bit of painting or copying and his music practise

I must have done loads of exercise yesterday what with wheelchair pushing and Beavers because I feel completely stiff! Good!

Wolf, felt rather guilty about my long emotional post yesterday to you re: craft.
He is three. They get bored quickly. 5 mins can be enough

swanriver · 19/11/2009 09:46

Scatty - that's so sweet - the teacher and the teddy LOL, I will try that out on the dts, they love those roles. I think dd will be the teacher and ds2 will be the teddy

wendyhappysmile · 19/11/2009 10:02

swan Plant bulbs has been on my list since the first week in October! LOL Must do it soon
scatty sounds like we all have arty crafty issues!
Wonderstuff* welcome
Having a battle of wills with left handed daughter trying to get her to hold pencil in correct grip - she can do it when I put it in her hand, but can't seem to remember how to put it into her hand properly to start with. I find it tricky sometimes this left handed ness! Know she is only nearly 3! Am doing LOTS of praise and it is working to some extent.
Busy day (what's new)
To do
Take DD to SIL - they are going to Build a Bear for DD's birthday
Pick up DS from school - take to eye appt at hosp
Take DS back to school
Lunch for me, try to do a quick home bleugh or at least put out a few fires! If time.
Swimming
Pick up DD and DS from SIL - she is doing school pick up
Start organising party for DD - Sunday - more chilled this time round!
Order name tapes etc for DD online
Try for a night where I actually speak more than a few sentences to DH! We are not really living as husband and wife atm
Perhaps watch Twilight film in preparation for seeing new one on Friday night - yay!

See you all tomorrow girlies

Simply · 19/11/2009 11:28

Hello to all. Thanks for the thread scatty.

I'm glad to hear that Ellie is now better EHM. Good to see you here.

Hi Wonderstuff and swan.

I suppose you have already seen these sorts of products for left handed people wendy website of products for left handed people

Tea I'm okay atm, thanks, with being at home all day. I still have quite a bit to sort through and de-clutter so I shouldn't get bored for a couple more months and then there's my family history and I might well do some voluntary work. My evenings are pretty busy with ferrying the kids around and, given their ages, they're quite often still out at 9 and 10 in the evening when I'd like to be sitting down relaxing, but there you go!

Sorry if my post doesn't read well. I have got a shocking cold and am only half human today. I'm not showered or dressed yet but will do that in a mo.

TeaMonster · 19/11/2009 12:17

Just bookmarking laptop being pants

Wendy yes this morning - thanks

Simply · 19/11/2009 13:51

wendy You're welcome.

Overflowing Yikes! Blue spotty day? Can you potato stamp some oldish whitish clothes that they aren't too attached to?

I've now showered and dressed and look presentable if anyone calls by. I offered to help a very glam neighbour with her job application form last night and she could call by any time which makes me push myself to look human even if I don't feel it!

Ok. Back to the sofa.

swanriver · 19/11/2009 15:07

we have a dh guest next weekend but guest problem is already solved by ds1 having taken up residence in the parlour

What about some blue spotty scouting type neckerchiefs for everyone, and otherwise white clothes? What are the blue spots in aid of - does it have any symbolic purpose?

Have run out of time again....
but have made a doable pile of paperwork for THIS EVENING [stern]
Hooverbags ordered online am, which was lucky as shop couldn't get them when I went round at lunchtime.
Did schooly type work, rivers, painting, piano and research of various people playing funny violin on Youtube
Shopping for catfood, bit of Xmas mission stuff [glue, gifttags, few rolls of paper)and a few condiments
sandwich out with ds1, park exercise
tidied kitchen a bit, put some ajax in loo

Simply hello

Good luck to those with visiting relatives.

DD has told all the teachers and dinner ladies that she goes to bed at 10 o clock . For some reason they all believe her, the teacher has told me off!

Not much done as have been dressing dolls with dd and watching Sarah Jane Adventures with DS.

Going to crack on with my jobs while DC do homework.

OP posts:
swanriver · 19/11/2009 17:57

That seems a bit draconian Ruby. I hope it is special tea.

Loads of homework here; they ARE doing it, but require kindly feedback. Made the mistake of getting ds1 to do some more, "simple" work, he then had a breakdown over fractions which I do NOT need.
Dd is now watching Cheaper By the Dozen 2 as a reward. Ds1 is now allowed to go on Nds, and Ds2 is looking forward to an episode of Thunderbirds. Supper is nearly ready for kids.
I have bought myself an Ethan Hawke DVD to watch this evening after my paperwork.
Did you recommend the Twilight books Wendy before the film?

wendyhappysmile · 19/11/2009 19:17

swan I heart the Twilight books, then have to self flagellate, being an English teacher and all! and they are really not well written and terrible tosh. LOL Read them!!!

scatty It's amazing that they believed for one moment that what your dd was saying was true and that you'd keep her up (or allow her to stay up) until that hour! My dd is in bed (just) before then and she is 10 yrs older than yours!

Ruby I've not caught up with what your role is with exams. Do you have to supervise them? I feel that I should be tut tutting with my health and safety hat on that you've gone 10 hours without a hot drink and presumably a proper break. I don't like to keep banging on about h & s stuff, though, so I won't.

swan I don't know if you've seen this bbc website for maths stuff but I used to find it useful.

I've had to go to town twice this afternoon/evening with ds' music stuff. I need to be on standby incase he needs a lift home. Off to lie on the sofa and watch some tv. Back later maybe.

wendyhappysmile · 19/11/2009 19:48

Ruby I go for the romance over the filth, don't know why. Have read the Sookie books too though - prefer Twilight! I heart Edward!

wendyhappysmile · 19/11/2009 19:50

Right need to get on. I also need to take charge of DC's bedtimes - DH has been doing them lately and they are only just in bed at ten to 8! Usually 7 for DD and 7.30 for DS - they will be tired tomorrow.
DD also has to wear something spotty for Music class tomorrow for Children in Need.

Wolfcub · 19/11/2009 20:58

evening all tea thanks for the recipe
swan no guilt required - it's nice to know I am not alone and I do long emotional posts a lot

I get the spotty dots connection now!

Ruby It's not just my ds then! Fair play, he did get to a recent music exam in good time. His friend and another pupil from the same school appeared just as the invigilator was doing the last call. Luckily the invigilator knew the names of those that hadn't turned up already and ds' friend's character so expected a late appearance from that candidate.

Ok. See you tomorrow. I hope to be 3/4s human by then.
