I am listening with baited breath, swan! LOL
knickers I lived in G from age 8 and my parents still live there. it's not so bad and the school got an outstanding on its ofsted. They have a nursery, and think the surestart centre has lots of free activities for little ones and their parents. The toddler group at the Salvation Army in G is also very good, and friendly to new people, can't remember times but think it should be found online somewhere.
Naking you are right on the job thing, I will phone back I think to speak to the person concerned (just secretary today). perhaps if they know my level of experience etc (it's really hard to find a good teacher mid year, too) they might be more disposed to upping the hours of the job. Who in their right mind would get paid for 0.4 and work the hours of 0.7?! i have considered, however, that I would be doing at the very least 6 hours preparation, planning and marking at home, so I may as well do it at the school - but then I am paying extra child care whilst I am out in the day.
everyone hi

Makingchanges sorry for calling you Naking sounds vaguely rude!

Wendy - er um can't remember what great thoughts I had at that precise moment
Something will suddenly come up that fits on job front - I'm sure.

House looked irretrievable, but to my surprise 10 minutes here and there sneaking off has saved the day

now we have a: creative pile
a Mummy paperwork pile pre- filing NEED TO TACKLE
a schooly pile for ds1
a sock and pants on the way upstairs pile
a dts homework pile
a library book pile
sheet music practise book pile

OverflowingFestiveM - dogs are always sweet aren't they [unlike some children]
Ruby - your powerful MN voice obviously telephathically reverberated around HT - well done on apology

tomorrow is a busy day - we are walking a long way to physio
Hope the meeting with important people goes well OFM

Hello to all. Reading other peoples' posts makes me realise that I somehow miss out on about half of other posters' news. I'm glad some on here are capable of paying attention to make up for my inattention!

Talking about being a bit slow on the uptake, I found this food advice website the other day. It has a meal planner and various bits and bobs which are useful. I used to know exactly what I had in the fridge (I used to write on magnetic stickers what was in each drawer) and I used to meal plan (of sorts) when I had an au pair but it all went to pot after that. I hope to get myself organised soon and stop buying tins! Lord knows how many I have in the cupboard.

I went to the swimming pool but it was too busy so I mooched around a nearby Christmas food and craft fair instead. I didn't have my handbag with me, only my change purse so couldn't buy the nice things there so I'll have to go back. We do Christmas hampers for two people in the family. I bought the hampers themselves in the Lakeland sale last Jan.

I don't know why I'm waffling on so I'll stop! See you tomorrow which is the day when I simply must stop procrastinating and get on with the ironing instead!

Thank you for posting that meal planner. Because i cant view the pdf on my phone it has taken me ages to write down the shopping list!

knickers I'm very unsavvy techie wise so please excuse me if this is a stupid question. Would it help at all if I e-mailed you a meal planner? It's not the same one as is on that website. It's the one that was doing the rounds on MN about 4 years ago.

Ah that would be great if you could please! Just had my friend round and i said about having a couple of menus and alternate them every couple of months. Will be turning slowcooker off at 1am then bedtime. Then i will stick it back on tomorrow. Curry tastes so much better once reheated!
