DP set fire to the frying pan......

.....and we now have a black wall and ceiling,

he turned the frying pan on to make friend eggs, then the numpty idiot left it unattended! and so it caught on fire,

bless him as he tried to clean the walls but just ended up smearing around and making it worse.

what is the easiest way to get it off the walls please? going to try tomorrow.

just to top it off he was making boiled eggs after and he was putting them in the water too cold so they were cracking, haha so got told how to do it properly by our 5 year old DS, haha,

i think i may have to ban him from my kitchen now.

You'll have to paint over it I think. Sorry, soot's a sod to get off walls so this is probably your best bet.

sugar soap and elbow greese before painting other wise you will need a gaxillion coats or it will shown through

my dh has suggested claim off the insurance if you are covered for accidental damage.

I say sugar soap/ star drops and lots of elbow grease.

My Dis's DH fell asleep with the chip pan on a couple of weeks ago. Burnt his forehead fighting the fire and left the kitchen covered in black soot. Also walked through the lounge and conservatory to chuck said pan out and blackened the whole downstairs in the process.

The've had a deep clean from the insurance and also a new kitchen is on the cards but she didn't need it. She is really down about all this.

Never leave a stove unattended.

use flash cream with bleach to get the surface stuff off - take photos first for insurance. Products to cover smoke damage are available, plus soot sponge is meant to be good. We did the paint thing on our kitchen rather than faff about too much.
