And it's mainly the boys stripy white and whatever stuff that's ruined. What can I do?

get to robert dyas or supermarket for Dylon Run Away asap. then wash again per instructions
I keep a packet of this in the house now after my sons red rugby socks ran twice

You can get stuff from the supermarket. Colour-run?
Might be worth a go (it took that chewing gum bluey colour off my bra)

Thanks, I have to wait for dc4 to wake and then I'm off.

Use the colour run stuff asap; you can use it in the washing machine. There's also one called Colour Run by Dr Beckman (something like that anyway!)

Don't allow the dyed clothes to dry as that can set the unwanted colour.

holy moley, should I wet them then as DC4 is still asleep?

I'd just keep them to one side damp (in the washing machine maybe) until you can treat them with the stuff later.
