Vacuum cleaner for someone with back pain?

My Mum has sciatica and scoliosis, and once again has been laid low by attempting to vacuum with her cylinder cleaner. She thinks an upright would be better- can anyone recommend a model that is lightweight/easier to push for someone with back pain?

TIA

a man to operate it for her?

I find my miele fine but I do make dh carry it up & down the stairs.

I always use the handle thing on it fully extended and then I can stand upright?

Thank you all. She was considering the Dyson but went out and bought herself this without waiting for the collective wisdom of Mumsnet .

However, she says it is very good, extremely light and she can vacuum the whole of the downstairs and the stairs themselves from one plugpoint (and it has an extension thing to do all the stairs).
Unfortunately my Dad is working abroad so can't help, otherwise that would indeed have been the ideal solution.
