Dying clothes in the washing machine - what sort of salt can I use??

I'm about to dye a white sheet bright orange using Dylon Machine Wash fabric dye. It says that I also have to use 500g of 'ordinary salt'. I've only got dishwasher salt in the house - do you think that would be ok to use??

hm not sure. salt is very cheap especially home brand ones. are you sure ou can't whip to the shops or local store for some?
