Quick ways to clean my house

My mum is coming in 1 hour, DH has just gone to pick her up from the airport. DD has just decided she is hungry, after not wanting to eat all day, so I am stuck on the sofa feeding her. The floor is clean and my mum's bedroom. But nothing else. How can i quickly clean in 5 or 10 mins? Where has the day gone? Help!!!! Has anyone got a magic wand????

Get a bag or basket and throw anything lying around into it then hoover! Quick wipe around bathroom sink with shampoo and stick some bleach in loo. Load dishwasher or just stack dishes or fill sinkwith lots of soapy bubbles and put as many dishes in there as poss.
Do I sound as if I have done this before?

And breathe

Tip water all over the kitchen floor and as she comes in say, oh dear, I haven't had a chance to tidy up, I've been dealing with this flood.

Spray a bit of furniture polish around.

pretty much same as flymetodundoon plus a few squits of airfreshner and voila!

Or leave hoover out and then say oh I was just about to......Hopefully she will take over.

Great ideas thanks. Still feeding DD, Mum will have to do it when she gets in.
