Laundry question - probably stupid

So I bought my nephew a signed football top from eBay. The signatures are in black felt tip, but the shirt is slightly grubby-looking. Should I wash it before I pass it on?

No. Otherwise you will have paid all that money for an ordinary shirt cos the felt tip signature will be long gone.

Could you somehow scrub round it?

Someone much more useful will probably be along in a minute!

Thanks, that's kinda what I thought.

Though you can guarantee that if I wanted to remove felt tip, it wouldn't wash out at all lol!

I expect it is a used shirt for a particular match or something and the grubbiness is meant to be part of the charm. Don't go near it and pass it on as is.

I imagine it won't matter as it's unlikely he'll actually be wearing the shirt isn't it?

It's come straight off the player I guess, better for your nephew.

{shudders] at the thought of sweaty football player.

You could sprinkle it with bicarb of soda to freshen it up and remove any oily marks without damaging the signatures.

Thank you, whomoved, great idea.
