A bit of a strange morning here
dh and I waved off ds1 on the coach with his suitcase and classmates for five day activity course in Surrey
still feel worried about how he's going to manage wrist/social side/being left out/general silliness
Just need to let him be independent and get on with it I suppose.

sore throat brewing (me)
other dcs to school

Home bless today
change sheets, put clothes away in bedrooms
wash kitchen floor
put recycling out
hoover playroom
piano practice
put too small/too big clothes in loft
find winter uniform/ties
find jumpers in loft
fish pie to make, cook fish, boil and mash pots, make white sauce
ring bank, ring dctr

Good morning, Leo Starbear and Grouchy

Morning Grouchy, Leo, Star, Swan and EHM .

Swan - It must feel strange (another milestone).

Star - similar shennanigans from DD in the early hours too. .

I have had a busy weekend with Mum here. House is a tip as we have had family over for 4 consecutive weekends! Must sort and try to get back into zone cleaning if not actual missions.

Today:
house bleugh
laundry (bedding)
find out wich zone it is!

Makingchanges · 05/10/2009 12:49

Afternoon all

I should be in School for a change but called in sick this morning as I have have felt off all weekend and still feel yuck today.

I got up with DD and DH this morning and did a few jobs and then returned to bed so have just got up for the second time to try and get some lunch down me.

Jobs

Ring re medical card for holidays - Done
Ring Docs for appointment follow up after coming off ADs - He wanted to see me after a month and I've only just remembered
Put Ham in slow cooker for ham sandwiches for lunches this week - done
Sort out bills and paperwork - done
Washing - One load done next one about to go in

Then I'm gonna sit and do nothing much this afternoon except watch daytime tv and try and get myself in some kinda workable state tonight for Spanish class.

BBL

Starbear · 05/10/2009 12:49

Lunchtime.Scatty Did you enjoy having them over? It's the Kitchen Zone. I think.
Going to add soup making to list as it solves midweek meal problems.
Write cards for 2 people & post done
Change bed covers to quilts done
load W/M done Put in dryer, very wet here!
Wrap ds present done
Phone radio shop done Not ready
I'm a bit sad I won't be home for tea with Ds for his birthday tomorrow and just been told his best friend won't be able to make Sunday. I hope he doesn't mind having tea with him on Saturday to make up!
Well I'm going to put the kettle on and have a sandwich. Late'rs

SimplyWantsAMagicWandPlease · 05/10/2009 14:29

Hello everyone. Thanks for starting the thread Starbear and go.

I hope the revision is going well, leo.

I hope you're feeling better MC.

For some strange reason, I can't concentrate so I'll sign off and come back later.

TeaMonster · 05/10/2009 14:39

Just checking in, BBL. Feeling very under the weather, cold still with me and I am def not right.

swanriver · 05/10/2009 14:42

other people's lists can cause brief faltering feeling Simply

today is really not going well
living room is cleanish
so is one bathroom
tidied ds2's boxroom

fish is overcooked
potatoes boiling now for topping

visitor [nice] brought dog, but kitten has gone into hiding - along with carkey, bedchanging and my morale

just had a lemsip

Starbear - what did you get Ds for his 5th? or was it his 4th, not quite sure from your profile page.
Making changes, that sounds a pretty productive morning
Leo - any revision is better than nothing!

swanriver · 05/10/2009 14:45

Back when I have done something.
TM, just sit down and do nothing for 10 mins, I'm sure you have had a busy morning.

swanriver · 05/10/2009 15:01

right, tidied dd's room, and ds1's room
I feel better
and mashed potatoes for pie

Starbear · 05/10/2009 15:12

swan He will be 5 yrs. I brought him a small Starwars space ship & a lettergame. I think the way things are going DH would prefer me to get only letter games
He is a happy kid and as yet makes very few demands. (I know that can all change)
& simply I basically ignore peoples list as I haven't got 6 kids like galen & I'm part-time. I sometimes post twice once to chat and one to put a list up for myself.
I do feel like a hamster sometimes. It would be nice to go back to my Richard & Judy days when I did things in between the adverts & the boring bits and that was me done for the day! Must pick up Kid & take cakes out of the oven!!!!!

swanriver · 05/10/2009 15:14

hoovered ds1's room, stairs, and hall

feel much much better
now off to pickup, peaceful afternoon ahead I hope, might try a bit of paintng with kids on pound shop canvases

scattyspice · 05/10/2009 16:02

Hi all.

Thanks for your help with bath mats (glad I inspired a bathroom makeover Swan). Mine is now drying over the radiator .

Star - he sounds lovely .

Hope poorly people are soon on the mend, the cold/flu season has definately started it seems.

Simply - its lovely having people over (family is all spread out).

My Mum has brought on Christmas anxiety already so i have started a little thread here.

Right best crack on.

I don't believe it chairs delivered while I was picking up Ds. Not going to go on here as worse things happen at sea.
TM Take some vit C & bluberries, get someone to make you chicken soup. Get better soon.
Scatty I'll post my Christmas moans on the other thread
Swan I burnt a small pan of Chilli con carne yesterday. It was the one with DH extra chilli. Thankfully it wasn't the bulk cook one.
Right off to ice cakes with DS and make tea.

Starbear · 05/10/2009 16:23

Ruby Work sounds great. Don't get cystitis over though

leothelioness · 05/10/2009 16:29

hi everyone,

I did well with revision today!

not much flying done and the kids are off school tomorrow so will clean then as I don't get much studying done when they are home.

swanriver · 05/10/2009 18:44

we've had a nice afternoon
two kids seems very very peaceful - wide wide horizon
we've done lots of music, fish pie and now some baking

oh spoke too soon terrible screeching from upstairs

well done Leo!
Scatty, completely agree on Xms overload, was looking forward to those xmas pjs tho' [clearly a Mumsnet invention - we never had them in our house when I was little]
kitten found (his hair still standing on end after meeting dog)

screeching continues - bedtime beckons

swanriver · 05/10/2009 18:45

V. Sorry about your chairs Starbear, just apalling bad luck.
Present sounds perfect.

scattyspice · 05/10/2009 19:31

Ruby - my day is like yours. I am still enjoying the novelty of a peaceful commute between work and school without DD .

swan - we never did Xmas PJs either, but a (single) friend at work still gets new PJs at Xmas from her parents (and she is 41 LOL). Last yr I bought new PJs at Xmas when they already had a draw full of perfectly good PJs (I really did overdo it last yr ).

All done.
