Low Temp Wash & Bleach

I usually wash undies & towels on a hot wash for hygiene reasons, would I get the same result just doing a low temp 30 degree quick wash with bleach as well as detergent, if so, how much bleach?

bump - Hi fellow good house-keepers, hope you do not mind the bump, I would appreciate any experience on trying this out

This is what I do all the time. I use about a teacup of bleach for a full water volume wash of about 8 towels or a whole tub of undies and washcloths, kitchen glasscloths, sundry white things. Everything comes out looking clean and smelling fresh. I wish there was a way of telling if everything has been effectively killed off, but I think smell is a reliable enough guide.
