damp stained lino

before i buy new lino. is thre a way to remove dark damp stains on lino? Washing machine leaked and got under lino leaving some very ugly dark stains.any tips?

My lino permanently absorbs stains of every sort - including newsprint in one corner. I haven't found any way to remove the stains unfortunately.
