How do I remove mould inside bath ducks?

DS has had bath ducks for over a year and they are getting a few black spots inside, can anyone think of a way to get rid of the mould without harming the ducks or leaving a residue that would get into the bath water?

I would also use Milton, or that mould and mildew remover you can buy. Squeeze each duck and put the hole in direct contact with the Milton etc, so it gets slurped up. Then leave it for a while, and swoosh it around. Then squirt the Milton etc out, and flush the duck through several times with water.

Make sure you wear an apron/old clothes etc, as Miton can bleach your clothes (as I have found out to my cost, having got bleach spots on my top while cleaning ducks!)

I think hiring someone to just take the mould out of ducks is a bit extreme - though tempting.

We put Milton solution in a sink and suck it in and out of ducks. Then leave for 20 mins.

well this thread gave me the kick up the arse that I needed and last night I cleaned DD's ducks. I went for the Mildew/Shower Cleaner option out of pure laziness - the bleach and milton were both downstairs. They still have a couple of little patches of black but hardly anything and look much better. I will not leave it quite so long next time as it really isn't a hard job!

You know, on two separate occasions I have "rescued" abandoned rubber ducks, once from a car park and once from the street. They were both in the same week, I was beginning to think they were a sign of something!

we take a collection of these swimming and they never get yacky 'cause of the chlorine, try take them swimming for a bit??

Right I finally have given the ducks a bath of their own in mould and mildew spray - the black bits that came squirting out of them were gross! Just hope that I can be satisfied that I can get rid of all the residue inside them.
