How can I get ink off a cuddly toy

A friend of mine customised a little cuddly toy when my dd was born - cross stitch little thingy with her name on it...anyway its five years old, but dd loves it. Along comes ds and prints on it - any ideas - its black ink on a pale brown bear

Hairspray will get rid of ink on fabric/clothing, so it may be worth a try on the soft toy.

Cheapo stuff will do if you dont want to waste your expensive stuff...just spray it on leave a little while and rub. The ink almost becomes liquid again and then will wash out in machine. If there is a lot, (as in a pen in pocket leak) it may take a couple of spray/wash cycles but it is worth the effort if it is something precious.
