any advice on cleaning bath toys?

Trying to get the house in order before it goes on the market and noticed DS's bath toys are all a bit mucky (notice every evening when he's in the bath, tbh, but never the right time to do anything about it and then I forget). And we have a whole day today without DS getting under our feet to clean and sort and organise.

Should I just put them all in a hot soapy bath and give them a scrub? Or use Milton? Or bleach?

Eurgh, I feel your pain! I dread to think what the insides of the squeezy ones must look like sometimes.

I have soaked mine in a weak milton solution, also give them a scrub in the bath when now and again. I find storing them in a colander helps them stay a bit drier too.

I put them in the dishwasher on hot and if that doesn't work throw them away and get more- sorry but if you cut a blowfish open and see the amount of mould festering inside, you'll do the same!

If you are talking about toys with holes in then chuck em. They are vile.

Agree re squirty toys - I would just get rid if I can't clean. But talking more generally, just plastic toys that are in teh bath and just seem to build up a layer of slightly slimey grime. Sounds much worse now!

I did a bleachy soak and sat scrubbing them for ages a few weeks back. nesting madness....

I was very to discover the squirty whale was not actually purple, but meant to be bright pink

will try the dishwasher first and then scrub if it doesn't work

Soak in milton, scrub with an old toothbrush. If the squirty toys are too bad don't bother but you can keep on top of them by emptying out all the water and storing in a mesh bag, then occasionally fill with milton solution and leave overnight. Squeeze out and rinse.
