bread makers worth it or not?

I was wondering if its worth getting one of these. My DH would love freshly made bread and i thought my boys would like fruit bread like banana bread for example. trouble is im useless in the kitchen! If I did get one it would have to be one on the cheaper end of the market as they get quite expensive.
So are they worth the money?

My panasonic one quietly baking a fruit loaf as I type! I love mine and am glad I got it. I have used it far more than I expected to. My dh loved the fruit bread - said it was the best he'd ever had (I took the credit even though the recipe came with the breadmaker!). Popular with my 8 month old too!

Easy to use, just throw all the ingredients in, turn it on and take your bread out when it beeps!
